We’re excited to welcome Bailey Schmidt as the newest Social Worker at Haven!
Bailey is 23 years old and comes from Tipton, Iowa. She graduated from Buena Vista University in 2024 with her Bachelor’s in Social Work. As the oldest of four siblings, Bailey brings compassion and leadership to everything she does. In her free time, she enjoys reading, doing crafts, and spending time with her cat.
Bailey chose Haven Hospice because she believes there is dignity and strength in every stage of life, and values that Haven upholds in every area of care. We’re so happy to have her as part of our team and look forward to the meaningful impact she’ll make for our patients and families.

We are so excited to introduce the newest nurse on the Haven team, Mary!💜

“I’m excited to share that I’ve joined the team here at Haven! I’ve been in nursing for 37 years, and although I like to joke that this means I must have started at age 2, every year has only deepened my love for caring for others.
I’ve lived in Florida for 10 years and spend as much time as possible snorkeling, boating, and fishing. I have one amazing daughter, no grandbabies yet, and a fun fact about me—I’m a triplet! One identical, one fraternal.
Caring for people has always been my passion. In hospice, I believe families need just as much support as the patient. After experiencing the loss of a parent with hospice myself, I learned firsthand what it feels like to shift from being the nurse to being the family. That experience changed me, and it’s why I’m committed to teaching, guiding, and bringing comfort to others during one of the most vulnerable times in their lives.
I’m grateful to be a part of the Haven team and look forward to caring for this community with compassion and heart.” 💜
