When we talk about employee well-being, most programs focus on the workforce as a whole. But there's one group carrying a disproportionate amount of pressure: managers.

Managers sit in the middle of everything — supporting their teams, delivering results, and translating leadership decisions, often while quietly managing their own stress behind the scenes. Over time, that weight adds up.

If your managers are running on empty, it's time to change that.

😴 It's Sleep Awareness Week.

And if you're like most people, you're not getting enough sleep. Not because you don't want to, but because life doesn't exactly make it easy.

The irony? Skimping on sleep is often the thing quietly working against everything else you're trying to accomplish. Focus, energy, mood, performance. It all runs on rest.

That’s why we’re recognizing Sleep Awareness Week and sharing a short video on sleep anchor habits. These are simple routines that help signal to your body that it’s time to wind down, making it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep.

What helps you get your best night of sleep? Share your favorite habit below.

🙋 Raise your hand if you've started a healthy habit on a Monday… and by Wednesday it was gone.

Yeah. Same.

Turns out, willpower was never the right tool for the job.

The real secret to sticking with healthy habits? It's not discipline. It's identity.

When you stop trying to "do" healthy things and start seeing yourself as someone who values their health — everything changes.

This is the idea behind the Joy Choice, and it's basically giving yourself permission to do SOMETHING instead of NOTHING when your perfect plan goes sideways.

🏃 Missed the gym? Take a 10-minute walk.
🥗 Didn't meal prep? Grab the healthiest thing on the menu.
😮‍💨 Too tired to cook? Scrambled eggs > drive-thru guilt spiral.

We dove into the science behind WHY habits fade (and how to actually fix it) in our latest blog. 👇

You woke up rested. But by 2 p.m., your patience is gone, your focus is scattered, and you're exhausted — and nothing even "went wrong" today. 😮‍💨

Sound familiar? That's microstress at work.

It's not one big stressor. It's the constant interruptions, unclear expectations, unfinished to-do's, and never-ending notifications that quietly drain your energy all day long.

The good news? Small changes can make a big difference.

February is Heart Month. ❤️

It’s the perfect time to zoom in on small, realistic habits that support your heart long term. And one of the easiest places to start? Your plate.

Lately, researchers have been talking more about polyphenols. They sound complicated, but they’re simply plant compounds found in foods you probably already enjoy.

Think:
🍓 Berries
🫒 Olive oil
🍫 Dark chocolate
🍵 Tea
☕ Coffee
🥬 Leafy greens

Polyphenols act as natural antioxidants and anti-inflammatory helpers. They support healthy blood vessels, improve circulation, and help protect your heart as you age. In long-term research, people who regularly ate more polyphenol-rich foods had lower predicted heart disease risk and higher levels of HDL “good” cholesterol.

Read more here:

Discover five polyphenol-rich foods that support heart health and simple, realistic ways to add them to your day during Heart Month.

The newest Dietary Guidelines for Americans are here, and they’re getting some attention.

What changed?

• A shorter, simplified format
• A stronger emphasis on protein
• A major visual shift, replacing MyPlate with an inverted food pyramid

These updates may not decide what’s for dinner tonight, but they do shape how food is taught, funded, and recommended across workplaces, schools, and healthcare settings.

That influence adds up.

So what do these changes really mean, and why are reactions so mixed?

We break it all down. 👇

A breakdown of the new Dietary Guidelines for Americans, what changed, what’s missing, and how the updates impact schools and workplaces.

One of the most underrated habits of 2026?

A simple 10-minute journaling habit before bed. 📝

Journaling gives your thoughts somewhere to land. It helps you slow down, spot patterns, and make sense of the day instead of carrying everything into tomorrow. Over time, those small nightly check-ins build self-awareness, steady motivation, and real discipline that doesn’t rely on willpower.

We broke down a simple, realistic journaling framework you can start tonight.

Flu cases are surging nationwide, and this season is hitting harder than many of us remember.

The U.S. is now seeing the highest flu activity in at least 25 years. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 19 states are reporting the highest levels of respiratory illness. As of December 27, there have already been an estimated 11 million flu cases, 120,000 hospitalizations, and 5,000 deaths this season.

Health experts expect flu-like illnesses to continue to climb in the coming weeks and warn that this season's peak has likely not yet been reached.

Flu cases are surging this season. Learn what’s driving the spike, how it affects workplaces, and what employers can do right now to protect teams.

Every January comes with the same loud message. 👀

Reset.
Do more.
Be better.
Fix everything.

And honestly? That’s exhausting.

Most people don’t need another list of resolutions.
They need space.
Space to pause.
Space to reflect.
Space to figure out what actually supports their energy and focus at work and in life.

That’s why we’re rethinking the whole “New Year, New You” thing.

Instead of pressure-filled goals, this article invites something gentler and way more realistic: better questions.
Questions that spark curiosity, not guilt.
Questions that help you build habits that feel sustainable, not draining.

Think recalibration, not reset.

Our Story

TotalWellness provides tailored corporate and health wellness services to help you deliver better wellness programs to your employees. Services include biometric screenings, corporate flu shots and a wellness portal.

Since our start in 1998, we’ve worked with companies that are interested in the happiness and health of their employee population. We believe the true value of a wellness program is the long-term positive effect they have on an individual’s life.

We ignite change by providing biometric screening experiences worth talking about. For too long we have concentrated on the problems and health risks within employees and it's time for a different approach. Our screening programs are built around a basic premise: everyone is healthy. By building on the strengths of participants, it opens the door to new ways to motivate and engage employees.
