Meet Dr. Joedy Istas, MD, a Family Medicine physician here at think. Dr. Istas is a lifelong Nebraskan who grew up in Red Cloud and completed his medical training right here in Omaha at UNMC after attending UNL.

Passionate about the local community, he is excited to help his patients achieve their best health. When he isn't in the office, you’ll likely find Dr. Istas enjoying the summer months with his wife, Deb, their four children, and six wonderful grandchildren.

We enjoyed catching this interview with Omaha Fire Chief Kathy Bossman! It is great to hear about the future of emergency services in our city.

With over 80% of emergency calls being EMS-related, we are happy to hear about OFD's research into a Mobile Integrated Health Program. The idea of pairing paramedics with Nurse Practitioners to handle non-emergency calls, bridging the gap for people who need care but not necessarily an ER visit, is exactly the kind of "Whole Person" thinking our community needs.

Meet Katie Peterson, a Family Medicine Physician Assistant specializing in preventative medicine and chronic condition management.

Her experience has been in family practice, urgent care, and rural health care. Katie also has spent a part of her career working in education while serving as faculty during the development of the Physician Assistant Program at College of St Mary.

She received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant studies from Des Moines University and her undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska.

Katie is passionate about an integrated healthcare approach, always involving patients in their care decisions to ensure thorough and optimal outcomes. She loves getting to know her patients and values the trust built in those strong provider-patient relationships.

An Omaha native, Katie spends her off-time enjoying adventures with her husband and four children.
