Children and youth experiencing foster care often come from unpredictable situations. What they need most is consistency, safety and a place to feel at ease.

If you can offer a steady routine, a safe space and emotional support, you are already making a powerful difference. It is not just about having room in your home, it is about having room in your heart to help someone feel secure, valued and cared for during one of the most difficult times in their life.

Sometimes stability is the most meaningful gift you can give.

Join us in celebrating Megan, our Training Coordinator, on her 3-year anniversary at KVC!

Megan’s impact goes far beyond her role. She brings energy, connection and heart to everything she does, helping create a workplace where people feel supported and engaged.

When asked about her most memorable moments at KVC, Megan shared:
“It’s really hard to pick just one, so I’ll pick two! I really enjoyed the volunteer day at Alpha. It was so fun creating bulletin boards and getting to know my coworkers better. And having a chance to serve others is always a great feeling! My second most memorable day (technically outside of work) was being part of the winning trivia teams two years in a row. 🧠💪 The camaraderie among the teams was so fun and motivating!”

Over the years, Megan has been involved in so many ways, including the Newsletter Committee, ODI, Vala’s Night, the Block Party, Corporate Games, Scrap & Craft Club and most recently Connection Council. She’s also a familiar face at social events, strengths, lunch and learns and wellbeing activities.

Thank you, Megan, for everything you bring to KVC. We’re so grateful for you! 💙

Sammy is celebrating 3 years at KVC as an Admissions Liaison, and we’re so grateful for the energy and connection she brings to our team 💙

When asked about her most memorable moments, Sammy shared that it’s the everyday connections that stand out most. From in-office Thursdays filled with snacks, games and laughter to simply spending time growing alongside her team, those moments have meant the most.

Over the years, Sammy has built strong relationships across teams, collaborating with staff in DD, in-home services and the Lincoln CPA team. She makes it a priority to stay connected, show up for her team and be part of the workplace community.

You’ll also find her participating in wellbeing challenges and representing KVC at Omaha Corporate Games 👏

Welcome to the team, Alier! 👏

Alier joins KVC as a Shared Living Specialist in Omaha. Originally from South Sudan, he’s called Nebraska home for many years and is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a degree in Mathematics.

He brings strong experience working with children and families, along with skills in case management, crisis intervention and collaboration.

Outside of work, Alier enjoys reading, playing chess and soccer.

Be sure to give him a warm welcome when you see him! 💙
