🌟 Welcome to the CHD Team, Candace! 🌟

Please join us in welcoming Candace Goolsby, who is joining CHD as our new Family Violence Prevention Coach.

Candace brings meaningful experience supporting women and children impacted by domestic violence, as well as survivors of s*x trafficking. Her background reflects a strong foundation in trauma‑informed, community‑centered care, values that align deeply with CHD’s mission.

After recently moving back to Omaha from Dallas, Candace shared that returning home has renewed her passion for serving this community. She was drawn to CHD because she believes in the importance of compassionate, culturally responsive services and has seen firsthand how much they matter for families navigating difficult times.

Outside of work, Candace loves to cook, work out, and read. She recently finished Passing by Nella Larsen and is looking forward to reading it again!

We’re excited to welcome Candace to the CHD family and look forward to the impact she’ll make in our community 💙

✨Our B.O.L.T. Youth Leadership Camp was amazing!⚡️

Last week during spring break, our young leaders, ages 10–18 showed up with energy, curiosity, and so much heart. Through workshops, team challenges, cultural learning, and community-building activities, they explored what it means to lead with purpose, unity, creativity, and self‑determination.

From group discussions to hands-on projects, from peer bonding to daily raffles and prizes, the kids pushed themselves, supported each other, and truly embodied the spirit of Building Our Leaders Today. Watching them grow in confidence and connection throughout the week was powerful.

We’re proud of every single participant. Their voices, their ideas, and their leadership shine bright. 🌟
Thank you to our staff, volunteers, and families for making this week unforgettable.

H.Y.P.E. at CHD is building the next generation, one leader at a time. 💛🖤❤️💚
