It was one year ago today that doctors at Children’s Hospital in Omaha performed a biopsy to determine if Reese’s swollen lymph nodes were cancerous.
After ultrasounds and CT scans we were pretty sure that we were facing a cancer diagnosis. But actually hearing the words from the surgeon were life changing.
For a week we waited to hear the confirmed diagnosis and we prepared ourselves for the battle ahead.

Reese got a great report today. No new or suspicious findings!
She will see her primary care provider in three months. And return to Children’s in six months.
No more scans! (Unless there are changes to her health.)
What a great birthday gift.

It’s been a while since we’ve had an update. Reese has been doing really well. Remission is a great place to be.
Thursday Reese will have her 3 month check up. We will go to Children’s Hospital for a CT scan. This is a regular check up with oncology.
We fully expect positive results but will obviously accept the prayers of this community.
Thank you to everyone for your support. I will update as soon as we know more.

One more milestone on the remission journey.

Reese didn't want to ring the bell at the McCook Infusion Center until she knew the cancer was gone. So, today she finally got the chance.

The procedure went well. The “port came right out” according to the doctor.

It’s really over.
