We recently hosted our annual Family-to-Family reunion, bringing together participants of our Family-to-Family Education program led by Dr. Jai and Jill Davis. Through this program, families gain valuable knowledge and support in caring for loved ones facing mental health or substance use challenges.

Guests came together over a meal to reconnect, share their journeys and lift each other up with stories of hope and progress. Local mental health advocate Tim Heller addressed the current state of mental health awareness in the Omaha community and offered guidance on how family members can effectively advocate for their loved ones.

Thank you to all who contributed to making this evening possible. We're proud to host events that foster connection and honor the strength of families and those who bravely seek help—reminding us all that recovery is a journey we walk together. 💚

Community outings offer a chance for those we serve to get outside, learn new things and to make memories. We had such a great time taking those we serve on a recent adventure to the Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium!

Everyone enjoyed seeing the animals, spending time together and learning about the zoo’s many species. Thank you to Rubi and Ellie on our team for taking lead on organizing this fun trip!

One of the things we focus on with those we serve is having a self-care plan in place. Quality sleep and rest are an important part of self-care. Did you know that improving your sleep can positively impact your mental health journey?🌙✨

As we adjust to the end of Daylight Savings Time, try these 5 simple tips to improve your nightly routine and boost your overall wellness:

1: Stick to a consistent sleep schedule
2. Create a bedroom that is dark, cool and quiet, allowing for undisturbed rest
3: Develop a relaxing bedtime routine
4. Aim for 8 hours of sleep nightly
5. Limit screen time and dim the lights an hour before bed

Happy Halloween from Community Alliance! Today, many of those we serve dressed up in spooky costumes for a costume contest and participated in celebratory activities like drawing, coloring sheets, bingo and exploring a scary haunted house. Staff also dressed up as Mario Kart characters making the day full of fun and scary vibes for all.

We’ve had a spooky start to Halloween week, celebrating with spirit week and decorating our space with fun decorations crafted by those we serve! Each day features a different theme—like witch and wizard day—where everyone joined in on the fun by dressing up in costumes, adding a sprinkle of magic to our day program. ✨🧙‍♀️🎃

We are grateful to be one of the recipients of Meals from the Heartland that were packaged by Bunge, a worldwide organization delivering essential food, feed and fuel to others. Each meal was prepped with heart in order to provide food and nourish our community. A total of 180 meals were distributed between our five residential homes for a weeknight meal. Thank you for thinking of Community Alliance and those that we serve!

We are grateful to partner with Genoa Healthcare for our onsite pharmacy, making it easy for those we serve to pick up prescriptions after their appointments. During National Pharmacy Tech Week, we’re celebrating the incredible Pharmacy Techs who keep everything at Community Alliance running smoothly with accuracy, care, and compassion.

We want to thank The Beard and Mane, a local barber shop that generously provided free haircuts and beard trims to those that we serve through our Reentry program. These acts of kindness help boost confidence and self-esteem for the individuals we work with during a crucial time of transitioning from prison back into the community. Thank you, Matt, and team for paying it forward, giving back and donating your time and talents to support our mission!

Today is National Medical Assistants Day! Our Medical Assistants in the Integrated Clinic are one of the first few people those we serve see as they come in for their appointments. They greet them, take their vitals and review their medical information in preparation for them to be seen by their doctor. If needed, they will also draw blood and help administer medications.

Thank you for being an integral part of the high-quality care we provide for the people we serve every day!

Today, we attended the annual Project Connect event organized by Threshold CoC at Baxter Arena to provide resources and potential services or care to those who may be experiencing homelessness, low income or just in need of a guiding light.

Thank you to our homeless team and our SOAR team for representing Community Alliance at this event and being a beacon for those who may be seeking mental health or substance use support services.

Recently, our CEO, Aileen had the opportunity to attend the “Building the Community Safety Net” symposium hosted by Lutheran Family Services, aimed at addressing new challenges that leadership faces as they work to build the safety net for the communities we serve.

While there, Aileen spoke with Mayor John W. Ewing, Jr. about Community Alliance! We are honored to attend events like these that keep us engaged in changing local initiatives that can help us better serve the community.

Thank you to everyone who attended, showed support or made monetary donations to our 28th annual Breaking the Silence event featuring Emmy-award winning chief meteorologist, Ginger Zee! She shared her story of living with depression while putting in the hard work to achieve recovery.

Ginger shared her story twice, privately with those we serve and publicly inspiring our wider community. She made an incredible impact on both audiences, sharing that storms don't last forever and leaving them with hope to continue to find the sunshine after the storm. We are overwhelmed with gratitude and joy to announce that this year's event was our third largest in attendance—and we exceeded our fundraising goal!

None of this would have been possible without a dedicated board of directors, planning committee and the ongoing support and belief in our mission within our community. We are so grateful!

Positive Actions. Positive Outcomes.

Community Alliance makes positive outcomes possible through an integrated, whole-person approach to mental health care. It is recovery in action, built on a continuum of care, service, and support. Psychiatric and Counseling services integrate seamlessly with Primary Health Care services, all of which are supported by a full range of proven effective rehabilitation, employment and community programs.

Every person gets what they need, and the high-quality care they deserve.

In fact, Community Alliance has earned top tier national accreditation scores for care quality, which plays a crucial role in our positive outcomes. But the most positive result we offer to people who struggle with mental illness and other mental health challenges is the knowledge and belief that recovery, put into action, becomes a daily reality.
