Hukilani

Hukilani Hukilani is a Hawaiian word that translates as "pulled toward heaven". Counseling services are designed to create an uplifting and empowering experience.

Hukilani exists to provide education, care, and support to individuals and communities desiring to walk others out of darkness. If you are an individual seeking to be a "safe place" for others in your community, Hukilani may be the equipping resource you have been looking for! Services are designed to create an uplifting, holistic, and empowering experience. Hukilani was created out of a story. A true life journey of pain, discovery, and passion. In 2003, an amazing young man bearing the name Hukilani passed from this world. I, Jeannie, was blessed to journey with this man for nearly 10 years. Before he died he asked me to write our story. I did, though the book is still being edited. But I could not stop there. Hukilani is more than a story. It is a movement to see the unseen, love those who feel unlovable, and challenge "us vs them" thinking. It is a movement of people pulling one another into freedom and toward heaven.

I wish this video had a copy of her package. In short, the young, female dancer struggles with anxiety. Her partner, Mark is representing the anxiety. A powerful representation of how anxiety can feel. If you fight with anxiety, you are not alone.

Dear Client,
I know that there’s widespread concern in our community about the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), and I want you to know that your health (and that of other clients) is my
top priority. With the increasing uncertainty and growing number of infected individuals around the world, I encourage you to take responsibility for yourself and your family. Though the risk remains low, it’s important to take a proactive approach to minimize exposure.
● If you’ve recently been in any airport, please wait 14 days before coming in for an appointment. (Tele-heath appointments are available.)
● If you or someone close to you has recently traveled to or from Iran, South Korea,
China, or Italy, please plan to do our next few appointments via tele-health. If this applies to you, please let me know.
● If you’re exhibiting symptoms of respiratory illness, I urge you to stay home, take care of yourself, and seek medical help when appropriate. I encourage you to schedule a secure video appointment with me if you are quarantined or don’t feel safe to be out and about.. Research shows that they can be just as effective as in-person appointments, and we can continue your care without interruption. If you're interested, let me know and I'll make the necessary arrangements. (Most health insurance
companies are now covering tele-health/video sessions. I use a HIPPA compliant program called doxy.me.)

Please refer to the CDC’s dedicated 2019-ncov website for additional information, and maintain awareness by checking the official communications from the Centers for Disease
Control and World Health Organization.

If you have any questions, please let me know.
Regards,
Jeannie Hughes, LIMHP

More great insight from Alison Cook!

If you struggle with toxic self condemnation—a voice that masquerades as God's voice—write down what it says in one column, and then write a re-frame.

I went to one of their workshops at the 2019 AACC Conference. I highly recommend this program to anyone looking to educate their church on the many ways the Church can contribute to mental health.
