"Guiding Hands Midwifery" was started by Jenda Stauffer in the fall of 2013. I (Lydia Rhodes) partnered with her in early 2014 at baby #20. Since then, we have practiced together and caught over 2300 babies! Although we have not technically been at the same hospital since last year, we continued to share our office and this month we will finish out our practice known as Guiding Hands Midwifery. After 28 years, she delivered her last baby yesterday and I would like to be the first to say Congratulations and Happy Retirement Jenda! 👏🎉
I will be continuing to practice and will announce changes to the name and site in a few days but I would like to give everyone a chance to say congratulations as well!

Changes this New Year! Jenda is doing her deliveries at Methodist Women's. Lydia is continuing to do her deliveries at Bergan. They no longer cover for each other since they are delivering at different hospitals. Neither is delivering at Lakeside.

We are pleased to present our 2023 statistics. We feel privledged to have such truly amazing patients who make it easy to love our job. We hit a record of 239 births for the practice this year (not bad for two CNMs)! Our VBAC number included 4 successful VBACs after 2Cs. Our thanks to Dr Barsoom and Dr Kuhlmann for always being such advocates! We thank you for all of your support as well!

“Triple Aim” Best Practice recognizes practices which meet the Institute for Healthcare Improvement “Triple Aim” of improving the patient experience, reducing cost of care, and improving the health of populations. This is demonstrated by high breastfeeding rates, low preterm birth and cesarean rates, and reporting fiscal variables. Guiding Hands Midwifery was the only practice in Nebraska to be recognized for this reward!
