March 22–28 is World Doula Week 🤍

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Abby, and I’m a certified birth and bereavement doula, childbirth educator, and lactation counselor. I’ve spent over 10 years supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period, and it is truly an honor to walk alongside them during such meaningful and vulnerable seasons of life.

At home, I’m a wife of (almost!) 20 years and a mom to four amazing kids, who keep me on my toes! This work is so close to my heart, and I’m incredibly grateful to be part of each family’s story 🤍

My heart is so incredibly full tonight. I had the honor of spending the day with 17 amazing perinatal and postpartum professionals as we gathered to learn more about supporting families experiencing pregnancy and infant loss.

Their hearts are so compassionate and so deeply committed to serving their communities in meaningful, thoughtful ways. It was beautiful to witness their willingness to lean in, learn, and grow in this sacred work.

We were also grateful to welcome six local organizations to our Resource Fair. They generously shared how they walk alongside families in the loss community and built connections that will strengthen support for so many. Seeing those relationships form was such a gift.

And finally — to the four families who bravely shared your precious babies and your stories with us — thank you. Your testimonies are invaluable. The love you carry for your children and the courage it takes to speak their names continues to create change. We are so deeply grateful for you.

My favorite post of the year 🤍 A look back at the births that shaped this year and the beautiful journeys each family shared with me (with the exception of any surprise arrivals before midnight tonight!).

I want to pause and say thank you to every family who welcomed me into their sacred space this year. That trust is something I never take lightly. Each family holds a special place in my heart, and reflecting on their births fills me with so much gratitude and warmth.

And as always, endless thanks to my own family for their flexibility, encouragement, and understanding every time I hit the door running, and for always saying “if I’m not at a birth”. Your support makes this work possible.

2026 is already shaping up to be just as full, and I am so excited to witness more miracles alongside these growing families. Here come the January babies! ✨
