Thank you to all the community members and local businesses who came out to support our third annual Adaptive Easter Eggstravaganza! We had a great time giving out lots of free popcorn, hot dogs, cotton candy, and THOUSANDS of eggs.
We appreciate all the local organizations that donated eggs to help make this event a success.
Thank you to Family Health Centers of North Central Washington, Okanogan County Child Development Association - OCCDA, The Support Center (El Centro de Apoyo), Omak Public Library, Okanogan County Transit Authority, Bright Start Services, Coordinated Care, Chelan-Douglas Health District, Our local Special Olympics - Okanogan County Sasquatch, Riders Okanogan, Omak School District - High School Transition Program, LifeLine Ambulance, Inc., and Okanogan Rescue for joining us at the event and sharing resources and goodies with the community (and an extra shout-out to Trango and LifeLine for bringing their vehicles in so kids could explore your bus and ambulance!). Thank you to all of the Omak School District and Key Club stuednts who volunteered to help during the event.

We’re growing—and it shows! Based on our 2024-2029 Strategic Plan, OBHC has made an effort to expand our direct services to meet the needs of our community. This effort has resulted in the expansion of many services with new positions added to support our Crisis, Medication Management, and Mental Health Services. With this growth comes the need for fresh talent, new perspectives, and dedicated people ready to make an impact. Each new job posting reflects our commitment to meeting the needs of our community. Certified Medical Assistant - Will perform clinical, administrative, and care-coordination duties under the supervision of a licensed psychiatric nurse practitioner(s).
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical support
Medication and care coordination
Administrative and documentation responsibilities

Designated Crisis Responder - Responsible for determining if an individual receiving crisis support presents a harm to self/others/property, or is gravely disabled and is at imminent risk, or if there is a non-emergent risk due to a substance use disorder, mental disorder, or needs assisted outpatient behavioral health treatment that may require involuntary treatment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct crisis and safety assessments
Provide clinical oversite to paraprofessional mobile crisis teams
Provide crisis and safety assessment support to other programs

Mental Health Professional - Adult - Will perform mental health assessments, treatment plan development, counseling, and internal care coordination as needed to meet the unique needs of each client. This position will provide adult outpatient services.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct evaluations
Develop treatment plans
Provide counseling services

Mental Health Professional - School-Based - Will perform mental health assessments, treatment plan development, counseling, and internal care coordination as needed to meet the unique needs of each client. This position will provide youth services, primarily in school-based settings.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct evaluations
Develop treatment plans
Provide counseling services

Mobile Crisis Responder - Will provide stability and support to community members experiencing behavioral health/SUD related crisis. Responders will provide intervention and support to all regions across Okanogan County.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide crisis intervention and support
Provide follow up and stabilization support
Coordinate with Designated Crisis Responders and other internal providers
Coordinate external care/referrals to other organizations as necessary

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner - The PMHNP will carry a caseload of clients and be responsible for conducting psychiatric assessments and prescribing medications as needed. The PMHNP will also provide case consultation with clinical staff and community medical partners.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide psychiatric evaluation and treatment planning
Educate patients and caregivers about medication use, benefits, and risks
Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications as needed

This course will include 5 classes from 6:30 - 8:30 PM on Thursdays, March 5, 12, 19, 26 & April 2. Classess will be held in person at the OBHC office in Omak with a virtual attendance option avalible upon request.

Crisis lines and in-person community response by OBHC's Mobile Crisis Team remain available during the holidays.

For those in Okanogan County, we encourage you to call the regional crisis line or OBHC office for support.

Crisis lines are operational 24/7. Community response is currently available 8:00 am - 8:00 pm seven days a week with response to secure facilities (such as hospitals) available after hours.
