Rosa Parks was a civil rights activist who refused to surrender her seat to a white passenger on a segregated bus in Montgomery, Alabama. Her defiance sparked the one of the largest social movements in history, the Montgomery Bus Boycott, which lasted more than a year.

Its success launched nationwide efforts to end racial segregation of public facilities. Parks courageous act and the subsequent Montgomery Bus Boycott led to the integration of public transportation in Montgomery. https://nuvi.me/8v8e4s

During November, for National Home Care Month we honor our home care who make a remarkable difference for the clients and families they serve. The expert, compassionate care they provide allows clients to remain independent, by staying safe at home and in familiar surroundings.

In recognition of the month we want to highlight Caregiver Natasha Rose out of our Valdosta, GA location! Natasha was nominated for the Home Care Association of America’s (HCAOA) 2025 Caregiver of the Year Award, recognized for her joyful spirit, selfless conviction, and compassionate nature.

In one instance, a client of Natasha’s was being evicted from his home and had no place to go. Natasha heard this and took initiative to speak with the management of a complex where another of her clients lived. Despite there being a long waitlist, she returned several times per week over several weeks to advocate for her client until he was moved to the top of the list.

Her work did not stop there. Natasha helped her client complete all of the required paperwork and accompanied him to the bank to assist in the process of paying his deposit and first month’s rent. Together, they packed his belongings and coordinated them being moved to his new apartment.

We invite you to join us, as we celebrate these tireless and selfless people who are caregivers, companions, and friends.

During November, for National Home Care Month we honor our home care who make a remarkable difference for the clients and families they serve. The expert, compassionate care they provide allows clients to remain independent, by staying safe at home and in familiar surroundings.

In recognition of the month we want to highlight Caregiver Sandra Godwin out of our Leesburg, GA location! Sandra has been a caregiver for more than 40 years, and her passion for her career is evident in the work she does each day. She will also train new caregivers who have requested additional on-site assistance. She enjoys sharing her knowledge, enabling her coworkers to provide the best care for their clients.

A notable achievement in Sandra’s career is when a nonverbal and bedbound client she had served for several months began speaking again. The client’s son was in tears and said he hadn’t heard his mother talk in 10 years. When asked how she did it, Sandra replied, “Love. I love what I do, baby.” The client’s son was able to hold conversations with his mother for the first time in a decade thanks to the comfort she found with Sandra.

In recognition of the month we want to highlight Caregiver Mindy Cooper out of our Desloge, MO location! Mindy possesses key qualities for an exceptional caregiver: compassion, patience, and excellent communication skills. She is recognized by her operation as dedicated, reliable, and adaptable, with a strong ability to problem solve. She listens to her clients and ensures their needs are met. They trust her, which enhances their overall well-being.

The daughter of one of Mindy’s clients says, “Mindy’s ability to make my dad laugh is absolutely my favorite. Knowing he is living alone in the country with limited interaction with other people has worried me. Dad has always been a funny, caring, social guy. Knowing that Mindy is willing to listen to his stories (probably on repeat!) and laugh and joke with him while
also making sure he is safe and cared for is priceless.”

We invite you to join us, as we celebrate these tireless and selfless people who are caregivers, companions, and friends.

Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) was started in 1999 by transgender advocate Gwendolyn Ann Smith as a vigil to honor the memory of Rita Hester, a transgender woman who was killed in 1998. The vigil commemorated all the transgender people lost to violence since Rita Hester’s death and began an important tradition that has become the annual Transgender Day of Remembrance.

“TDOR seeks to highlight the losses we face due to anti-transgender bigotry and violence. I am no stranger to the need to fight for our rights, and the right to simply exist is first and foremost. With so many seeking to erase transgender people — sometimes in the most brutal ways possible — it is vitally important that those we lose are remembered, and that we continue to fight for justice.” – TDOR founder Gwendolyn Ann Smith
