A wonderful new service offered at our location!

I have recently launched my new program focusing on provider support and counseling. This service is wonderful for providers of any kind and in any industry. As providers, we often give all we can to our clients (both human and animal). In doing so we sometimes find it difficult to refill our own cup. We may find ourselves triggered by certain experiences and situations, unable to release emotions from our work, or unable to show up for ourselves the way we deserve.

Reach out if you are struggling, feeling burned out, or simply curious of what a change in perspective could look like. I am here to offer support in growth, healing, and empowerment!

We extend our gratitude to everyone for their patience and understanding as we navigate the loss of our beloved equine partner, Tonka. We appreciate your respect for our need to undertake this solemn journey of honoring him and his life. Tonka was a gift from God and sent by our equine angels above. We cherished every moment with him. Over the past seven years with us, he was deeply loved and profoundly honored each day. His absence will be deeply felt.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to you, Tonka, for the profound impact you had on our lives. We are so thankful for the memories we shared together and the lessons you taught us. We will always regard you as our amazing equine partner and friend. Your presence and hoof prints will forever be in our hearts.

Oh, the weather outside is frightful! But the horses are still feeling delightful….and reminding us to honor what our souls and bodies need!

-Cappy is giving his body rest and comfort, finding the hay to be a perfectly warm place to find safety in stillness.
-Indy and Cisco are giving their souls some much welcomed connection, finding the snow to be the perfect setting for play in the paddock.
-And Biscuit, Lil Red, Privet, and Princess gather around the round bale…feeding their bodies and souls at the same time!

If you feel tired, overwhelmed, stuck, uninspired, or underfed…today is the perfect day to reflect on what your body and soul is asking for. And once you identify it, how can you honor it? If you struggle with this, feel free to reach out to let our healing herd support you ❤️

The transition from summer into fall is in full sing. How are you handling the change?

The horses each process the internal and external changes differently. Some release themselves from the 'DO' of summer and allow in playfulness. Others stand in solitude for quiet reflection. And others listen to and nurture their bodies through sunlight and snacks. Each process is wonderful in its own way.

As this transition of seasons occurs, emotions may surface that ask for attention, attunement, or awareness. Reach out if you are in need of support. Our healing heard provides a safe and sacred place for the processing, healing, and growth to take place ❤️

A reminder to all current clients, newcomers, and caseworkers: Open Trails Counseling and The Horse Experience are closed to all sessions from Wednesday May 1 - Sunday May 12. Limited contact is available to current clients and caseworkers via email. Regular sessions and contact will resume Monday May 13.
