TRAINER TIP THURSDAY- BOX JUMP VARIATIONS 😁🏆

Box jumps are a great way to include balance, cardio, and strength in one exercise. Try one of these variations to challenge your body in different ways, but with each variation remember to have a SOFT LANDING and keep your KNEES STRAIGHT.

RECIPE REHAB- Pesto Tortellini Soup 🥣✨

Protein, anti-inflammatory herbs, and the cozy carbs your muscles love. Your PT approves. 💪

Ingredients:
– 2 tbsp olive oil
– 1 yellow onion, diced
– 3-5 garlic cloves, minced
– 1lb Italian sausage
– 1 tsp garlic powder
– 1 tsp onion powder
– 1 tsp dried parsley
– Salt & pepper
– 1/2 cup sun dried tomatoes, drained & diced
– 1/3 cup pesto
– 1, 13.5oz can unsweetened coconut milk
– 5 cups chicken or vegetable broth
– 10 oz tortellini
– Parmesan cheese to top

MOBILITY MONDAY IS BACK- AGING GRACEFULLY WITH DR. HANNI COWLEY 💥💪

Focus on these smaller movements and major muscle groups in order to continue moving with ease! 🧘‍♀️🧘‍♂️

💥 Core Activation: Ideally using a stability ball, exhale and squeeze the ball between your hands. Progress this exercise as Dr. Hanni has shown above. Remember these exercises are targeting your CORE, so keep your abdominals engaged and try to keep the rest of your body relatively stable.

💥 Standing Squat/Sit to Stand: These exercises are critical in daily motion, and can help with quad and glute strength. Progress this exercise as Hanni has shown above by staggering your feet, or doing an overhead reach onto your toes at the top of your stand.

💥 Reach and Weight Shift: This exercise can help with improving balance and full body strength. Try to go slow and controlled, and avoid creating and using momentum- trust your own strength!

💥 TheraBand Row: Self-fix one end of the TheraBand and pull against the tension in a rowing or bow-and-arrow motion. Squeeze your shoulder blades together while you pull using different angles as Dr. Hanni demonstrated. This will address different muscle groups and help with posture and proximal arm strength.

💥 TheraBand External Rotation: Same as the rows, TheraBand external rotation can be done at different angles.
