Final day of hosting: EMDR & Beyond: The Science of Connection. A Continuing Education Program on Trauma-Informed Care for Youth, Adults, and Families!
What began as a room full of strangers became something far more meaningful—a genuine community built through shared learning, vulnerability, reflection, and unforgettable experiences.
Over these days, we didn’t just complete continuing education (CE) hours—we created space for connection, healing, restoration, and real transformation.
From our beachside residence in Lima, Peru, we immersed ourselves in yoga sessions by the sea, paddle boarding at sunrise, surfing the Pacific waves, wellness and CE training with ocean views, circle ceremonies, deep reflection, meaningful conversations, and the richness of Peru’s extraordinary gastronomy—one of the greatest culinary destinations in the world.
We laughed.
We challenged ourselves.
We disconnected from burnout.
We reconnected with purpose.
Then, together, we were transported to the ancient ruins of Cusco and Machu Picchu, where we experienced the unforgettable adventure of the Inca Trail—walking through history, nature, and one of the most powerful journeys of personal reflection imaginable:
Every step became symbolic.
Every mountain reminded us of resilience.
Every shared moment deepened the connection between healing, purpose, and presence.
We witnessed restoration.
We held space for one another.
We remembered that those who spend their lives helping others heal also deserve the space to pause, breathe, receive, and be cared for.
From shared meals overlooking the coast, to sunrise movement by the ocean, to every step taken together through Inca Trail, Machu Picchu, Cusco, the Sacred Valley—this experience became a reminder that healing is not only found in sessions but also in adventure, culture, community, and joy.
To our incredible participants—thank YOU for your trust, your openness, your vulnerability, and your hearts. Your energy made this CE retreat unforgettable.
