Higher Ground Recovery Summit ⛰️

We are proud to share that our CEO, Robert (Bob) Merritt MSN, RN was a featured speaker at this year’s Higher Ground Recovery Summit.

Bob’s session focused on stigma, substance use disorder and behavioral health, highlighting the importance of compassionate, accessible care in our communities.💙

A sincere thank you to South Central Human Resource Agency for hosting such a meaningful event earlier this week, and for bringing together an outstanding group of speakers.

We are honored to be part of these conversations and remain committed to expanding access, reducing stigma, and strengthening recovery support across rural Tennessee. 🙏

🎨 Art in Recovery

This powerful drawing of Tupac, created by one of our patients, is more than just a portrait, it’s a reflection of resilience, expression, and finding your voice again.

Tupac’s story has always been one of struggle, truth, and transformation. In many ways, that mirrors the journey of recovery. Through art, individuals are able to process emotions, tell their stories, and reconnect with who they are beyond addiction.

At Myrtle Recovery Centers, we believe healing happens in many forms, and creativity is one of them. Pieces like this remind us that even in the hardest chapters, there is still purpose, strength, and something meaningful waiting to be expressed.

💬 If you or someone you love is ready to take the first step toward healing, we’re here for you.

💙 April is Alcohol Awareness Month

Alcohol use disorder affects millions of individuals and families, yet it’s often misunderstood, minimized, or overlooked. This month is about bringing awareness to the real impact alcohol can have on physical health, mental well-being, relationships, and daily life.

Alcohol dependence doesn’t always look the same. It can be hidden, normalized, or quietly impacting someone behind the scenes. That’s why awareness matters. It helps reduce stigma, encourages honest conversations, and reminds people that they are not alone.

Recovery is possible, and support can make all the difference. Whether someone is just beginning to question their relationship with alcohol or is ready to take the next step, there are resources, people, and communities ready to help.

💬 If you or someone you love may be struggling, we’re here to support you with compassion and care.

🎨 Art in Recovery 🌿

Not all growth is loud.

Sometimes, it’s quiet.
Steady.
Almost unnoticeable… until one day, you realize how far you’ve come.

This beautiful piece, created by one of our patients, reminds us that healing isn’t about big, dramatic change. It’s about small, consistent steps that slowly become strength.

Like the myrtle tree, recovery is resilient.
It bends without breaking.
It grows gently, over time.

Letting go of old patterns, triggers, and places that no longer serve you isn’t easy. But it creates space for something new. A new life. A new way forward.

Recovery is a choice we make again and again.
Day by day.
Moment by moment.

And it’s not about perfection. It’s about becoming who you were meant to be… one honest moment at a time.

If you or someone you love is struggling, you are not alone. There is hope. There is help. And there is a path forward.

This week, part of our Myrtle Recovery Centers team had the opportunity to attend the 2026 Rx Drug Summit in Nashville at the Ga***rd Opryland Resort & Convention Center and we’re carrying something meaningful back with us.

Behind every session, every conversation, and every new idea is one shared purpose… helping people find their way back to themselves.

We spent this week learning, listening, and connecting with others who are deeply committed to walking alongside individuals and families affected by addiction. It’s a reminder that recovery is not just possible, it’s happening every day, and it’s something no one should have to face alone.

Everything we gained from this experience is coming back home to you, to strengthen the way we care, support, and show up for our community. Because this work is not just what we do… it’s who we are.

If you or someone you love is struggling, there is hope and there is help. We are here for you. 💙

🎨 Art in Recovery 🌿

Healing doesn’t always happen in big, dramatic moments.
Sometimes, it looks like honesty on a page… and the courage to keep going.

One of our patients shared this powerful piece, and we are honored to share their words with you:

Life can seem so difficult,
When there's no place left to turn,
And the gift of knowing right from wrong,
Is a thing we can't discern.

Take a breath and hold it,
And try not to despair,
Put down the dope, and have some hope,
'Cause Myrtle's always there.

Coping with tomorrow,
May seem a daunting task,
And the day that we have squandered,
We hide behind some mask.

A place exists with sanity,
And I will tell you where,
The bottle's song may seem too strong,
But Myrtle's always there.

When we grow sick from vain pursuits,
And our feet fail to trod,
Up the mountain's sloping,
That leads us to our God.

There is a brightness shining,
That we may fail to see,
So make your way and don't delay,
You'll find recovery.

Recovery is not about perfection. It’s about choosing, again and again, to take the next step forward. Even on the hardest days.

If you or someone you love is struggling, you are not alone. There is hope. There is help. And there is a path forward.
