Boundaries Are A Gift Too 🌿

Recovery doesn’t pause just because it’s the holidays. This time of year can bring gatherings, expectations, and old patterns that make it harder to stay grounded. You don’t have to say yes to every invitation to prove you care. Protecting your sobriety and emotional safety is an act of strength, not selfishness.

Choosing boundaries might look like leaving early, skipping an event where substances will be present, limiting time with certain people, or spending the holiday in a way that supports your healing. You get to choose what supports your recovery, even if it looks different from what others expect.

If this season brings triggers or pressure, you don’t have to carry that alone.

🎨 Art in Recovery at Myrtle Recovery Centers 💛

This week’s featured artwork comes from one of our patients who poured emotion, strength, and reflection into this powerful piece. Art has a way of helping people express what words sometimes can’t, and we’re honored to showcase the creativity that grows during the healing process.

Recovery is not only about breaking old patterns. It’s about rediscovering your voice, your story, and the parts of yourself that deserve care and light. Moments of creation can bring clarity, calm, and connection. 🌿

If you or someone you love is ready to start a recovery journey that honors the whole person, we’re here to walk beside you.

Day 1 at TARCPCON 25 in Murfreesboro was a great success! 🌟

We’re grateful for all the friendly faces, new connections, and the chance to spend time with so many dedicated partners in this field.

TARCP, the Tennessee Association of Recovery Court Professionals brings together teams from across the state who are committed to helping individuals rebuild their lives through accountability, treatment, and support. It is an honor to stand alongside them in this work.

We’re already into Day 2 and looking forward to continued shared ideas and opportunities to strengthen the collaboration that helps our rural communities thrive.

Supporting our Recovery Courts is one of our greatest privileges, and we’re proud to walk this journey together. 🤝💙

When the Holidays Feel Heavy 🌿

This season can be a mix of emotions. For some people it brings celebration and togetherness. For others it brings grief, stress, painful memories, or a reminder of people and moments that aren’t here anymore. If this time of year feels heavier than it appears on the surface, you’re not alone.

You don’t have to force joy or pretend everything feels bright. Sometimes honoring where you are, giving yourself permission to rest, and choosing connection at your own pace is its own kind of healing.

If this season is hard and you need support in your recovery, reach out. We’re here to listen, we’re here to help, and you have a place to land.

✨ Art in Recovery 🎨

This piece was created with hundreds of tiny hand-placed gems, each one added with patience and intention. The image captures a moment of humility, care, and connection, and the way it was crafted reflects those same qualities in the person who created it.

Art like this can become more than a creative project. It can offer a sense of grounding and purpose. It can help someone stay present, channel emotions, and reconnect with parts of themselves that may have been quiet for a long time. Watching patients create work that holds meaning for them reminds us that healing isn’t only about treatment. It is also about feeling seen, supported, and encouraged to grow in ways that feel personal and authentic.

We are honored to walk alongside each person who chooses recovery and to celebrate the strength they bring to their journey.

If you or someone you care about needs support, we are here to help whenever you are ready.

We are proud to share that the Rural Health Association of Tennessee, Inc. (RHA) recently recognized Myrtle Recovery Centers at their Awards Luncheon during the Annual RHA Conference.

RHA expressed their appreciation for Myrtle’s engagement, our willingness to share lessons learned, and most importantly our service to the community and the state.

This recognition was a meaningful reflection of our team’s dedication and the strength of the patients and families we serve. We are proud to represent rural Tennessee and to continue expanding access to compassionate, recovery-focused care close to home.

Thank you, RHA, for this incredible honor.

Feedback Friday đź’¬

Stories like this remind us that recovery isn’t just about getting through today. It’s about building a life that keeps growing long after treatment ends. Hearing that someone who once struggled to stay sober is now celebrating over 18 months clean fills us with gratitude and hope. 🌿

We’re proud of this patient and honored that Myrtle could be part of their journey. Their strength, resilience, and willingness to keep showing up made change possible. 💛

If you or someone you love is searching for support, healing is possible and help is close by.

Connection Over Perfection 🌿

The holidays can make us feel like we need to have everything figured out. Perfect plans, perfect gifts, perfect behavior, perfect healing. But the moments that matter rarely come from perfection. They come from being present with the people who care about us and letting ourselves show up as we are.

If this season feels overwhelming, take a breath. You don’t have to perform to be worthy of connection. 💛

If you or someone you love needs support or a place to begin again, we’re here.

🌿 Meet the Team: Allie Patton, FNP-C 🌿

We’re excited to introduce Allie Patton, our Nurse Practitioner here at Myrtle Recovery Centers.

Allie has been in nursing since 2020 and earned her Master’s in 2022. She’s new to addiction medicine, but she brings a wide range of experience from acute care, education, esthetics, primary care, and urgent care. At Myrtle, she helps patients manage withdrawal symptoms and supports them as they begin building their health back up before discharge.

Allie was born and raised right here in the area, and working in a rural community feels like home for her. She says the warmth and kindness of the people here make every day feel meaningful.

Outside of work, you’ll find Allie spending time with her husband and their two boys. Finding a job closer to home was important to her, and she describes this opportunity as a blessing that allows her to be present with the people she loves most.

Allie shares that her faith guides her work and the way she cares for patients. Her favorite quote captures that beautifully: “Even if, God is still good.”

We’re grateful to have Allie on our team and appreciate the heart she brings to Myrtle every single day. 💜

🍓 Art in Recovery 🎨

This beautiful piece was created by a very talented recent patient. Painting helped them slow down, breathe, and reconnect with things that feel light and hopeful. These strawberries became a reminder that joy can return in small and unexpected ways.

Healing often starts with moments like this. A brush in hand. A quiet room. A chance to express feelings that don’t always fit into words. We’re honored to walk alongside our patients as they rediscover themselves through creativity and community.

If you or someone you love is ready to begin a healing journey, reach out. You deserve support that sees the whole person.
