Thank you, Senator Oberacker, for your support. The Catskill Center for Independence and those we represent depend on you. Even if you did mistake me for an assembly member!

It is evident that the significant impact of Independent Living Centers (ILCs) on the disabled community is not matched by sufficient funding and representation in the budget, despite their proven value. This call to action is particularly relevant for those who know someone with a disability.

Our Independent Living Center's help ANYONE with a disability and their families. We save the State millions and millions of dollars each year by providing the services our Government does not. Each year the cost of living & operating costs goes higher, yet we continually get underfunded and are often the first programs to be cut.

You can help by reaching out to your representatives or flooding the Governors office with us Monday February 9, 2026 at the Legislative Office Building in Albany. If you or someone you know have a disability, please share this!

Gov. Kathy Hochul鈥檚 budget cuts $750,000 in funding from Independent Living Centers (ILC).

Absolutely disgusting news! What do you think?

The Trump administration sent hundreds of letters Tuesday terminating federal grants supporting mental health and drug addiction services. The cuts could total as much as $2 billion.

We love when inovators take on the task of making accessibility more "sexy". It encourages folks to get out there and not worry about the stigma as much as the opportunity to engage in their communities!

Many older people would rather risk falling than use walkers, but what if you could build one that's sexy?

The Center will be closed tomorrow, Friday, December 12th for staff development. We will reopen at 8am on Monday, December 15th. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Governor Hochul exempted PPL鈥檚 $11 billion contract from comptroller oversight. This means the oversight is up to us! We want to know - how is it going for you? And how does PPL compare to your prior fiscal intermediary (FI)?

Past survey reports have brought media attention to your stories and laid bare the devastating impact of PPL鈥檚 scam health insurance, health assessment process and payment issues.

Your voices are making a difference.

As we prepare to launch our Care Not Corruption campaign, we need to continue to arm ourselves with the truth in the face of the lies and deception of PPL, the governor and the Department of Health.

We need your participation to continue to monitor PPL, because Governor Hochul won鈥檛 - complete this quick survey now!

隆Dedique 5 minutos a completar nuestra nueva encuesta CDPAP!

Queremos saber: 驴c贸mo les est谩 yendo?

In solidarity,

The NY Caring Majority Team
