Week of March 9-15, 2020 COVID-19

03/10/2020

We have been informed by the BWC that in an abundance of caution surrounding COVID-19 and in light of the State of Emergency declared by Governor DeWine yesterday, the BWC advises all Ohio Safety Councils to suspend monthly meetings in March and April to minimize groups of people gathering as a measure to slow the spread of potential exposure.

Safety Council meeting credits will be given to each enrolled Richland County Safety Council member for both March and April. Our awards banquet scheduled for April will be rescheduled for a later date.

Please stay tuned for further information as we are working on ways to present next weeks meeting in the very near future via web. The presentation is relevant to the current situation so seeking a way to share with our members.

For any questions regarding COVID-19 or the suspension of our Safety Council meetings, please email Businessmanager@richlandcountysafetycouncil.com

Message from the Business Manager:

It is “Semi-Annual Reporting” time for the 2nd half of 2019, period July 1 – December 31, 2019. Every company must submit the SAR, either by using the attached form in which you can manually complete and return me at email listed below my name or by accessing the Richland County Safety Council Website, Membership Services, Semi-Annual Report. Once submitted online it will come directly to my email address and I will forward info to the BWC. Please print a copy for your records prior to submitting online.

REMEMBER the deadline for submission is January 15, 2020. If you do not know your Safety Council Account number it is the same as your BWC Policy #. If you do not know your BWC policy # we will be able to assist once we receive your paperwork. Also note in Item #1, date of most recent injury, if you do not have a new injury that resulted in days away from work during the current reporting period (July 1 – Dec. 31, 2019) then you will use the last lost time injury date reported on your previous Semi-Annual Report.

Please review your answers prior to submitting to make sure you are clearly stating the information as it appears on your OSHA 300 Log

Additionally, the Yearly Dues Invoices were issued in early December, if you did not receive please email me with an updated email address so I can make sure my Quickbooks accounting system is accurate. Quickbooks contacts and Outlook contacts are not always identical based on company requests, so if in doubt please send me an email to confirm I have the correct contact emails in both systems.
