It’s hard not to smile when Scout comes by. 🎄🐾

Scout helped spread extra holiday cheer by posing with residents in front of the Christmas tree, creating sweet moments and laughter along the way. Visits like this add a little magic to the season — and we have a feeling Santa Paws may have Scout on the nice list, too.

For many families, the decision to explore assisted living comes with a mix of questions, emotions, and hope for what life could look like next. 💭

In this week’s Understanding Senior Living blog, Lori Baine shares her family’s experience — what they noticed, what mattered most in their search, and how life has changed for her dad and for their family since making the move. From feeling supported day to day to rediscovering the simple joy of spending time together, her story reflects a journey many families recognize. ❤️

If you’re in a season of noticing changes or quietly wondering what support might look like for someone you love, Lori’s perspective may feel familiar — and reassuring. 🕊️

The holidays feel even more special when they’re shared. 🎄✨
Our Lantern residents enjoyed coming together for festive activities like making gingerbread houses and creating Christmas wreaths — choosing ribbons, decorating, laughing, and swapping stories along the way. These hands-on moments spark creativity, encourage connection, and give residents a chance to enjoy familiar traditions with friends.

Seeing the pride on their faces as they admired their finished wreaths and sweet creations was a reminder of how meaningful simple, shared experiences can be during the holiday season.

🎄The holidays often bring meaningful time together — and sometimes, moments of clarity. You may notice changes in mobility, memory, or daily routines that are easy to miss from afar, and those realizations can feel heavy.

In our latest Understanding Senior Living blog, we share how to navigate these observations with compassion, honesty, and confidence — from starting gentle conversations to taking small, practical next steps that protect both safety and independence. ☑️

You don’t have to have all the answers, and you don’t have to do this alone. 🤝

A little culture, a little sweetness, and a whole lot of joy. 🩰🍰

Our residents from The Lantern at Morning Pointe of East Hamilton joined our sister community for a special performance by the CHA Ballet — a beautiful opportunity to enjoy the performing arts together. Afterward, we stopped for a sweet treat and shared laughs while talking about the ballet moves we learned and our favorite moments from the performance.

Experiences like these keep curiosity alive, spark conversation, and create memories that extend well beyond the stage.

🩰✨ The performing arts have a special way of bringing people together — and CHA Ballet’s special mini Nutcracker performance did exactly that.

Residents at Morning Pointe of Chattanooga at Shallowford - Assisted Living were joined by friends from sister Morning Pointe and Lantern communities across the Tennessee Valley for an afternoon of breathtaking ballet, beautiful music, and shared wonder. Dancers began by walking us through the basics of ballet — from positions to movements — giving residents a fun, interactive look at the art before bringing the Nutcracker to life.

From the graceful choreography to the familiar holiday melodies, the performance sparked memories, smiles, and moments of awe throughout the room.

Experiences like this go beyond entertainment. They create connections, encourage curiosity, and allow residents to stay engaged with the arts they love — and even learn something new along the way. It was a meaningful reminder that discovery and joy don’t have an age limit.

A heartfelt thank you to the talented dancers who helped us celebrate the season in such a memorable way. 🩰🎄
