Sleep is one of the most important aspects to maintaining a healthy mind + body. Some see it as a chore because there are so many things to do in one day. Like taking the kids to all their activities, walking the dog, work, making time for family, crafts and fun, and so much more. But we must remember…. prioritizing sleep is a must.
During slumber, our minds repair themselves. It really is fantastic! If we miss out on periods of deep sleep, we often wake up feeling anxious, unwell, and tired. Babies need sleep for their growing bodies continually. Their brain grows by 90% within the first five years. That's tremendous growth and a long period of time to get the best sleep that they can to aid in this. That’s about 4,015 hours of sleep time if your kiddo is getting the needed 10-13 hours a day during this time.
We know keeping that sleep schedule isn't easy though. Things happen and this is okay. However, if it has become a struggle continually, there may be something else to try. Chiropractic calms the part of the nervous system that is the powerhouse of sleeping, eating, + digesting. If the system is overloaded, communication is blocked, things start to go haywire, and 10 hours of sleep may start to look like 6 hours of continual sleep.
