We shared an inside look at what it’s like to begin your nursing career at East Alabama Health, highlighted our mission and culture, and walked students through what to expect when applying for our Nurse Residency Program.

East Alabama Medical Center is seeking a qualified Healthcare Interpreter to facilitate effective communication for Limited English Proficient (LEP) patients and their family members. The Interpreter will provide language assistance across a variety of settings, including medical, educational, financial, and insurance-related interactions.

Key Responsibilities
- Interpret accurately and impartially between patients, families, and staff
- Support communication in clinical and non-clinical environments
- Ensure patient understanding while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism

Position Qualifications
- Successful completion of conversational/translation competency testing in a secondary language
- Demonstrated fluency in the relevant language
- Achieve a High Intermediate score on a Language Proficiency Test prior to providing interpretation services
