🚨 IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN!‼️‼️🚨
🚨PSA:
When buying for someone in the nursing home and you do not know what to get. These are a few things that can help:

•Personal wipes especially if the facility doesn’t provide them because they are using towels on your loved ones! Yes, Towels!

•SOCKS! That’s not tight around the ankles. If their feet are cold their whole body will be cold!

•Pictures & pop-up visits! (It gives them something to talk about with the other residents)

•Dial antibacterial soap(yellow bar) helps get them squeaky clean! PLEASE STOP BUYING DOVE! It doesn’t work and it doesn’t clean them properly! It really just masks the smell for a while.

•Vaseline (inform them to use Vaseline EVERY diaper change) it will help stop rashes and bedsores. If they have bedsores already get zinc & Vaseline. The facility should provide zinc.

•Sippy cups (especially if you know they are not steady)

•Perfume/ Cologne remember they are still humans and like to smell good like anyone else. Plus it helps with their self-esteem.

• Lotion or Vaseline to keep their skin from cracking.

• Blankets(the soft plush ones)

• Baby dolls (for the dementia patients) I find that this helps soothe them when they go back in time when they were raising their kids.

• Neck Pillows!!!! ( they love those)

***ALSO LABEL EVERYTHING!!!!*** You have to remember they are in a facility with over 100 residents & sometimes things go missing or to the wrong person due to it not being labeled.

They took care of us so let’s take care of them!
