We need your help!
In the area of public health, one entity alone cannot take on the enormous task of influencing the entire population. Through the collaboration of Healthy St. Landry and its vision to build a healthy St. Landry for all, we can make a significant impact at improving the overall health of our community. One of those initiatives is to update the St. Landry Resource Directory which was first published in 2020. The updating process has started, and we need your help. What is Healthy St. Landry

Healthy St. Landry is an affiliate program of Opelousas General Health System Foundation. In April of 2018, a Think Tank about community health was held and the Healthy St. Landry Alliance was created. Healthy St. Landry has three main goals, to develop a steering committee, create a resource directory for St. Landry parish and to explore a medical hub concept in rural communities.

Since 2018, the HSTLA has created a steering committee, cultivated a resource directory of more than 250 resources that are free and easily accessible online and done extensive research on developing a medical hub in a rural community. The Healthy St. Landry Alliance is comprised of multiple organizations that service St. Landry parish, whether private organizations, non-profits, social service agencies and local, state and federal organizations. Without the support of these stakeholders, the accomplishments of Healthy St. Landry would not have been possible.

HSTL received a grant to work with a coach from Robert Wood Johnson in September of 2018 and from that developed a strategic plan. The plan, in its’ entirety, can be viewed at https://www.opelousasgeneral.com/en/healthy-st-landry/ The Healthy St. Landry Resource Directory can also be viewed here.
