This month, we raise awareness for pancreatic cancer — one of the most challenging cancers to detect early, but one where awareness can save lives.

What to know:

Pancreatic cancer often shows few symptoms in the early stages.

Common signs can include abdominal pain, unexplained weight loss, jaundice, and loss of appetite.

It is the 3rd leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S.

Early detection and knowing your risk factors make a difference.

At Southwest Louisiana Primary Health Center, we encourage our community to:
✅ Know your family medical history
✅ Stay up to date on wellness visits and screenings
✅ Talk to your provider if you have ongoing symptoms

Together, we honor those fighting, support families affected, and spread awareness to save lives.

This month, we’re raising awareness about diabetes — a condition that affects more than 37 million Americans, including thousands right here in Southwest Louisiana.

🩸 Diabetes happens when the body can’t properly use or make insulin, leading to high blood sugar. But here’s the good news — with early detection, healthy habits, and regular check-ups, it can be managed and even prevented.

✅ Know your numbers — A1C, blood pressure, and cholesterol.
🥗 Eat balanced meals and stay active.
👩🏾‍⚕️ Schedule a screening with your provider at Southwest Louisiana Primary Health Center.

Together, we can take steps toward a healthier, stronger community — one choice at a time. 💙
