📚✨ First day of school jitters are SO normal — for kids AND for us parents! Whether it’s preschool, kindergarten, or a brand new grade, books can be such a powerful way to ease those nerves and spark excitement.

I’ve rounded up some of my favorite read-alouds to help your little one feel confident, calm, and ready to take on their big day.

💬 Comment “first day” below and I’ll send you the link to all of these books (and more!) in one place.

Here’s to tear-free mornings, warm hugs at pick-up, and little voices saying, “I can’t wait to go back tomorrow.” ❤️🤞🏼

Is it just picky eating… or something more?

As a mom of a picky toddler, I get how stressful mealtimes can be. You make the food. They won’t touch it. Or they want the same food every day — until one day, they suddenly refuse even that. 😩

That might be a food jag — and it can be a red flag for something called a problem feeder (which is more than just a picky eater).

💡 Here’s the difference:
• Picky eaters usually have at least 30 foods in their diet and can cycle foods in and out.
• Problem feeders eat fewer than 20 foods and lose foods without gaining new ones.

Understanding this changed how I show up — not just as a feeding therapist, but as a mom. And it’s why I teach both strategies and empathy. Because mealtimes aren’t just about food — they’re about connection, trust, and tiny wins.

✨ If you’re wondering where to start, comment HELP and I’ll DM you free feeding resources from packed with tips to make mealtimes a little easier for everyone at the table.

You’re not failing — you just need the right support. 💛

Find yourself wondering if your child’s vocabulary repertoire is on track? Use this simple chart for reference!

✨Word Count Averages✨
🌈 12 Months: Between 2-6 words
🌈 15 Months: Around 10 words
🌈 18 Months: Around 50 words
🌈 24 Months: Between 200-300 words
🌈 30 Months: Around 450 words
🌈 36 Months: Around 1,000+ words

🫶🏻 Remember, all children develop at different rates, and this is simply meant to serve as a guide for inquiring minds 😌 If you notice your child consistently falls significantly below 👇🏻 these monthly averages, or notice very little language progression on a monthly basis, — it might be a good idea to chat about it with your child’s pediatrician!

Have specific questions about your child’s language development? Drop them below or send me a message! 🩷
