This has been a tough week. Losing one of our own is something we are never be prepared for. I know many of you are hurting, confused, angry, or just feeling numb. All of those feelings are valid. Please don’t carry them alone.
I want to be clear about something: it’s okay to not be okay. It’s okay to ask for help. In fact, asking for help takes strength—not weakness. Being tough on the field doesn’t mean you have to be tough through pain that feels unbearable. You don’t have to hide your struggles behind a jersey or a smile.
You are more than an athlete. You are a whole person, and your mental health matters just as much as your physical health. You are seen, you are valued, and you are loved—on and off the field.
If you’re struggling, talk to someone. A teammate, a coach, a counselor, a friend—just talk. My door is always open. You’re not alone, and you never have to be!
