A new client came to see me- PT referral. Presented with pain and decreased range of motion in shoulder. Client had manipulation under anesthesia for frozen shoulder which seemed to help initially. Eventually symptoms returned and began increasing. PT and massage helps to stay mobile but client wasn’t seeing significant improvement so we changed our approach. We assessed myotomes and treated proximal with higher intensity and slower pulse rate and then tested the same area again. Client showed significant improvement in muscle/nerve response and expressed increased mobility when dressing post-session. Thank you to the PT that referred this client- I truly believe it is a team effort and I value your trust in me. My first big girl job out of massage school was for a physical therapist so I’m partial to that collaboration. Thank you to Electrons Plus practitioners and mastermind groups for continued growth and learning. Thank you to this client for trusting me and communicating through the process so we could customize the session based on her feedback. This is the message I want all of my clients to read. I’ve been collaborating with Dr. Mindy Jacques for a year now and wanted to give her a shout out. She’s not a big social media gal but she’s an incredible healer and teaches qigong and tai chi to boot. My friend introduced us- the name is just coincidence/synchronistic. Mindy is so knowledgeable and cares so much about her clients/her people. I have been so lucky to have her energy in my space this last year. If you’ve been following my stories you already know, but I just wanted to give an update. I was bit by what I think was a cottonmouth snake Sunday evening. My kids took me to the emergency clinic where they didn’t even wait for me to get to the waiting room before taking me back and getting me connected to wires and cords on both arms, chest, sides. They marked where the swelling was when I came in and areas to measure every 30 minutes and then every hour. When my swelling stopped progressing and didn’t pass my ankle I was released. I didn’t receive antivenin and they said pain meds wouldn’t work very well since it’s a nerve pain. I’m having to keep my foot elevated and couldn’t walk on it. It has felt like a deep bruise. The second day the nerve pain wasn’t as bad and only hurt if I tried to stand/walk. I’m getting better each day and I have been walking as needed by Tuesday.

I’m grateful for those who have reached out or brought me things, my son for taking me to my office so I could get my rehab items and taking care of me, my husband for coming to be with me and putting me before his career, Baer snuggles, my clients for understanding and rescheduling tbd, and - I was actually on detox cycle and in the process of healing my cells when the snake bit me and I can’t help but think that helped. Electrons plus has made a huge difference in my healing as well- reduced inflammation and tenderness as well as increased range of motion. I’ll post photos soon.

Sometimes progress is quick and sometimes progress is a process. When this client came in she couldn’t stand with a straight left leg. Unfortunately I didn’t get a standing photo at that time but I did get this video (left) of how difficult it was for her to lift her left leg up compared to her right leg in a seated position. She was also not able to curl her toes and grip the floor. Her toe curl progress came quick but straightening her leg has been a process. Sessions have included guided PEMF, myofascial scraping, cupping, deep tissue and adhesion massage, shockwave, etc. We addressed not only her leg, but other body zones contributing to cause. Every time she came in, we saw progress but it wasn’t until we pulled up these videos we both realized how far she has come. She is also seeing Mindy the acupuncturist (iykyk) and doesn’t let life inhibit her from DOING. Mindset and a great team will get you results. 🙌 ⚡️ 💪

I’ve been out of town for a beach weekend with my bookish friends, body work and mentorship by , two 50th wedding anniversaries, picking up my son and taking him to Dr appointments, and a family reunion. It was very people-y and emotional at times but it was also medicine. Horses, mountains, family, rappelling, woodworking, sapphire mining, stories of my family’s history, shared talents, and disconnection from social media. A dopamine detox.

I had been struggling with burnout (not from y’all) and needed this reset more than I knew. I realized how I’ve missed the mountains, horses, and connecting with family from distant places. I try to have a balanced life. But sometimes we need a reset. It doesn’t mean we aren’t okay. We were meant to rest. We have had some chaos sprinkled in our life a bit but we are getting through it. I’m grateful to be back and feeling remotivated to keep on keeping on. This is a happy post and your sign to take a moment if you need it. 🧘 🐴 🌲 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒
