- Ensure the residents are safe and comfortable at all times
- Provide assistance with all activities of daily living such as, but not limited to, bathing, dressing, and other personal care
- Provide care with respect for resident's personal rights with an emphasis on dignity and individuality
- Able to adhere to a schedule for resident services, meal times, and daily activity programs
- Able to prioritize, organize and use work time appropriately
- Demonstrate a mature, pleasant behavior and demeanor that supports the facility philosophy regarding optimal resident care and customer service

Qualifications:

- Shall be at least 18 years of age

- Shall be eligible to work int he U.S.

- Shall be in good physical health determined by a health screening, including a chest x-ray or an intradermal test for TB clearance, performed by a physician not more than six (6) months prior to or seven days after employment

- Shall have experience providing care and supervision to elderly or disabled individuals in a residential environment preferred

- Knowledge of basic food service and safe handling of food

- Have verifiable employment references as to character and responsibility

- Shall be a high school graduate or possess a GED

- Shall be fingerprint cleared by the DOJ and the FBI and successfully pass a criminal background check

- Must be able to work a flexible schedule per work center needs

- Full COVID-19 vaccination required

As a cook your main job function is to prepare daily meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) for all the residents at the living facility as well as for visiting guests of the residents (as needed). This position typically works in the kitchen and dining room but may also include cooking a meal for a bed-bound patient. May also prepare special meals as needed with opportunity to exhibit creativity.

Create menus in line with the nutritional needs and desires of our residents while adhering to any dietary requirements as established by the resident's nutritionists and doctors.

Keep records of what you serve to the residents, their dining schedules and the operations of the kitchen facility.

Meet all federal and state health department standards and codes for proper food storage, handling and preparation, keeping the kitchen and work stations clean at all times.

Assist with the purchasing and/or inventory of food items to ensure proper quantities are on hand and that the items are based on resident demand and dietary needs.
