Dr. Mike and Dr. Ryan had a great time this morning at the Milford 5K Trick or Trot!

We provided pre/post race stretching and recovery to runners with our hyperice products and normatec compression boots.

Not every exercise needs to correlate exactly to sport.

Educate the athlete on the why/how for each exercise and emphasize the importance of performing the movement with INTENT.

This mentality in the gym will be more beneficial than any type of flashy โ€œsports-specificโ€ exercise.

Believe it or not, exercise prescription doesnโ€™t have to be specific.

A lot of times, people write buzz words like โ€˜bulletproofโ€™ (โ€œinsert muscle hereโ€) and give the impression that thereโ€™s a โ€˜bestโ€™ exercise.

In reality, there is no single best exercise for back pain.

The truth is that walking, yoga, pilates, and weight training all provide similar benefits for reducing back pain.

The most important part of exercise prescription is recommending movement that the patient LIKES TO DO. This makes them more likely to stay consistent with their program which is the ultimate goal.

You donโ€™t need to do planks in order for your back pain to go away.
