Believe it or not, exercise prescription doesnโt have to be specific.
A lot of times, people write buzz words like โbulletproofโ (โinsert muscle hereโ) and give the impression that thereโs a โbestโ exercise.
In reality, there is no single best exercise for back pain.
The truth is that walking, yoga, pilates, and weight training all provide similar benefits for reducing back pain.
The most important part of exercise prescription is recommending movement that the patient LIKES TO DO. This makes them more likely to stay consistent with their program which is the ultimate goal.
You donโt need to do planks in order for your back pain to go away.
