You've spent your career making sure your family is taken care of.

This is the same thing.

Hiring the right home care for your parent isn't an indulgence — it's the smartest decision you can make right now. It keeps them safe, comfortable, and independent in their own home. It protects your time. And it means that when you do visit, you're there as a son or daughter — not as a case manager.

ElderCare Services has been trusted by Connecticut families since 2003. We're not a franchise. We're not a call center. We're a small, hands-on team that treats every client like family — because that's the only way we know how to do it.

When you're ready to have the conversation, we're here.

Some families hire a caregiver privately to save money. I understand why — and sometimes it works out beautifully.

But here's what often gets overlooked:

When you hire independently, you become the employer. If your caregiver calls in sick, you're on your own. If something goes wrong in the home, you may be liable. There's no backup, no oversight, and no one managing the relationship if things get complicated.

With ElderCare Services, we handle all of that. We're bonded and insured, we carry workers' compensation, and if there's ever an issue, you call me directly — not a call center.

You're not just hiring a caregiver. You're getting a team behind you.

Letting someone into your parent's home is not a small thing.

I know that.

It's why every single caregiver we bring on goes through extensive interviews, provides five references, passes a background check, and completes a medical evaluation — before they ever meet a client.

But honestly? The vetting process is just the starting point. What I look for beyond the paperwork is character.
Are they patient?
Do they genuinely enjoy being around older adults?
Will they treat your mom the way you would?

I've been doing this long enough to know the difference — and I won't send someone I wouldn't trust in my own family's home.

If you've had a bad experience with a caregiver before, I want to hear about it. It helps me understand exactly what you need.

There’s a lot of confusion around home care.

Private duty home care is non-medical support that helps seniors remain safe and independent at home.

This can include:
• Personal care and bathing assistance
• Medication reminders
• Meal preparation
• Companionship
• Light housekeeping
• Transportation to appointments

It’s personalized, flexible, and built around your family’s needs.

If your loved one values independence but needs extra support, private duty care may be the solution.

We accept private pay and long-term care insurance.

A fall.
A hospital stay.
A sudden health decline.

• Prevent avoidable hospital visits
• Reduce caregiver stress
• Improve safety at home
• Provide consistent companionship

Planning ahead gives your family options — and control.

Early Signs It Might Be Time for Home Care

Most families don’t wake up one day knowing they need home care.

It usually starts with small changes.

Missed medications.
Spoiled food in the fridge.
Unopened mail stacking up.
More frequent falls or near-falls.
Noticeable weight loss or confusion.

These signs don’t mean your loved one can’t stay at home. In fact, the right support can help them stay safely at home longer.

A complimentary home assessment can give you clarity and peace of mind — without pressure.

If you’re starting to notice changes, we’re here to talk.
