Hi, my name is Hailey, and I am currently a Level II graduate student pursuing my Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at D’Youville University. I have had the pleasure of completing my first level two field work rotation at Red Barn. From the very first day, the Red Barn Therapy team welcomed me with open arms and provided me with mentorship that went beyond just clinical skills. Observing and participating in sessions that incorporated hippotherapy and equine-assisted activities taught me how movement, connection, and trust can enhance motor, sensory, and emotional outcomes in ways that traditional settings sometimes can’t. Each session was a reminder of how powerful occupational therapy can be when creativity and compassion come together.
The clients that I have engaged with and had the pleasure to treat have left a lasting impact on me personally and professionally. I was blessed to be afforded that opportunity to work with them. Working alongside such a skilled and empathetic team has left a lasting impact on me, and I’m incredibly grateful for everything I’ve learned during my time at Red Barn Therapy.
This experience has further confirmed my passion for occupational therapy and has inspired me to continue exploring innovative, client-focused approaches throughout my career. I now advance to my next clinical rotation, and graduate with my degree in May! Thanks again to the Red Barn team for being part of my journey! ❤️
We couldn’t be more grateful for the time, energy, and heart Hailey brought to our team. Her strong work ethic, dedication to learning, and genuine compassion for the clients she served made a lasting impact. Thank you, Hailey — we’re so very proud of all you’ve accomplished and excited for what’s ahead in your OT journey! Excelsior!
