Behind every child we serve is a compassionate team making sure they receive the right support at the right time. Our Intake Specialists are often the very first voice families, partners, and community members hear when there are concerns of abuse or neglect. They meet every call with empathy, professionalism, and care.

They coordinate with families, assessment staff, and community partners such as law enforcement and child protective services, carefully documenting referrals and identifying each child’s unique needs to guide the next steps.

Just as important, they offer steady emotional support during overwhelming moments; explaining the process, answering questions, and helping families know what to expect. Their calm presence builds trust from that very first conversation.

We are deeply grateful for our Intake Specialists and the compassion they bring to children and families when it matters most. 💛

Thank you to the Mt. Hood District Kiwanis Clubs for coming together to provide such a generous donation of Bears & Blankets! A few representatives from the different clubs visited the Center last week to learn more about our work while dropping off these thoughtful gifts.

We are deeply appreciative of their kindness and generosity. These physical items bring real comfort, hope, and healing to the children and families we serve.

Last Friday, we began 2026 by bringing our community together for our Brunch & Learn, we welcomed local elected officials and public leaders into Children’s Center to see our work firsthand and learn how collaboration plays a vital role in protecting children and supporting healing.

We are deeply grateful to Willamette Coffee House for helping create a welcoming space by providing coffee and breakfast burritos, and to everyone who took the time to join us, ask thoughtful questions, and engage in meaningful conversations. These moments of connection strengthen the shared responsibility we all have to keep children safe.

Thank you to everyone who joined us Wednesday afternoon for our quarterly Community Conversations at Willamette Falls Providence! It was wonderful to reconnect and network with familiar faces from local nonprofits. 👥

Our Healthy Boundaries and Prevention Manager, Justine Kovak, led an engaging panel titled “Sustaining the Mission: Navigating Nonprofit Challenges During Uncertain Times.” We heard from local leaders who shared insights about the funding and operational challenges nonprofits have faced over the past year. A big thank you to our panelists: Simon Fulford, Executive Director of Parrott Creek, Esther Garrett, Founder & CEO of Safety Compass Oregon, and our very own Operations and Community Engagement Director, Laura Sisulak.

We are deeply grateful to our partners with the Safe Kids Coalition, including Clackamas Women’s Services, Northwest Family Services, Parrott Creek, and Safety Compass for helping make this event possible. We’re honored to stand alongside these organizations as we work together to build safer futures and stronger communities for children and families across Oregon. 🌼

At Children’s Center, healing begins the moment a child and caregiver walk through our doors. Our Clinical Support Team is here to welcome them with warmth, reassurance, and compassion.

Often meeting families during one of the hardest moments of their lives, our team’s warm smiles and steady presence help create an immediate sense of safety. Whether it’s offering a kind word, helping them settle into the space, or providing a snack or drink to bring a bit of comfort, the Clinical Support Team helps children and parents alike feel cared for from the very beginning.

During assessments, they ensure clear communication, seamless coordination, and a trauma-informed experience for each child and caregiver. As the main point of contact for families, partners, and staff, they lead every interaction with patience, professionalism, and care.

By building trust from the very first moment, our Clinical Support Team helps every child and teen feel safe, supported, and not alone—because this is a place where healing begins. 🌼

Over the holiday break, one family chose a truly meaningful way to celebrate—by giving back. Instead of exchanging gifts with one another, they went shopping for items to donate, generously fulfilling many wishes from our Mental Health Wellness Kit Supply list. What a beautiful way to spread joy while teaching their young ones the power of kindness and generosity.

We are so grateful to have received five full bags of supplies for our Mental Health Wellness Kits. From sleep masks, water bottles, hand lotions, protein bars, tea bags, and fidget toys, these thoughtful items will bring comfort, care, and support to those who receive them.

Thank you to this incredible family for going above and beyond. Your generosity is making a real and lasting impact in the lives of the children and teens we serve. 💙
