Get ready for some tremendous Fish Fry opportunities throughout Lent. We can't thank the Knights of Columbus and St. Mary Catholic Church for their generosity.

It's almost time. Let the countdown begin. We can't wait for you to come and dine with us. First Fish Fry is February 20. All the favorites are back. You know the rule: tell your friends. We are once again supporting Serenity Hospice and Home. What is your favorite at our fish frys? Serenity Hospice and Home

Stay warm. Thank you to our communities for supporting Serenity through our Angel Treasures Resale Shops.

With the brutal temperatures again today, we want to keep everyone safe.

The Mt. Morris Angel Treasures location will accept donations, but there will be no staff outside to help. Thank you for your understanding.

📚 A Quiet Place to Find Comfort, One Page at a Time 📚

Did you know The Serenity Shed is home to a thoughtfully curated Bereavement Resource Library for our community?

Our shelves include an impressive collection of books focused on healing, grief, the death of a child, meditation, dying, su***de, life lessons, youth-related topics, poetry, PTSD, supportive caregiving, and more. Whether you’re seeking understanding, reassurance, or simply a moment of reflection, these resources are here for you.

✨ All are welcome to stop in and browse.
✨ All resources are available to borrow—free of charge.

This library is made possible through the generous support of the Ogle County 708 Mental Health Board, allowing us to continue offering meaningful grief resources to our community.

📍 The Serenity Shed
131 N. Third Street
Just south of Conover Square in downtown Oregon, IL

🕘 Hours: Monday–Friday | 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

You don’t have to walk the grief journey alone. We invite you to come in, take your time, and find what speaks to you. 💙

Dressing for Extreme Cold:

Dressing in loose-fitting layers traps pockets of warm air, creating insulation that keeps you warmer by preventing heat loss, unlike tight clothes that restrict airflow and can reduce blood circulation, making you colder, though a snug base layer is still crucial for wicking sweat away. The key is using multiple layers: a tight base layer (wool/synthetic), looser insulating middle layers (fleece/down) that hold air, and a loose outer shell for wind/moisture protection, ensuring boots and gloves aren't too tight to allow for air space and circulation.

With these cold temperatures upon us, please be safe this Friday (and beyond).

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Friday's high temperature is predicted to be NEGATIVE four, -4.

Angel Treasures I - Mt. Morris will be accepting donations, but our staff will be unavailable to help unload outside. Thank you for understanding, and be safe over the next several days (and don't forget to be on the lookout to help others).
