Insulin IQ

Insulin IQ Insulin IQ™ provides nutrition and lifestyle coaching for insulin control and better health through science-based education and outcome-driven coaching.

Today’s “Plagues of Prosperity”—including type2 diabetes, heart disease, certain cancers, dementia, fatty-liver disease, PCOS and obesity—all have one thing in common… To varying degrees, each is caused or made worse by the inability of the hormone insulin to perform as it should; A condition largely within our control called Insulin Resistance. For over eight years the doctors, trainers, scientists and nutrition experts leading the Insulin IQ movement have coached thousands of people to remarkable health transformations through insulin control. Our pragmatic, outcome-driven coaching programs are anchored in the research being done by one of our cofounders, internationally renowned scientist and pathophysiology professor Dr. Benjamin Bikman. In his book, Why We Get Sick, Dr. Bikman documents both 1) the rise of insulin resistance and its role in so many of today’s plagues of prosperity and 2) how to fight back! With Dr. Bikman’s continuing research as the foundation, Insulin IQ’s coaching programs have been built using the latest in nutrition science, specifically focused on insulin control. Now, you can find the same healing results that thousands of others have benefited from, through our easy-to-understand, affordable and intuitive online coaching programs. Or, if you want in-person accountability, you can find an Insulin IQ Authorized Coaching Facility in your area.

The holidays don’t cause insulin resistance… how we navigate them does.

You don’t fix your metabolism by skipping every cookie or “starting over” in January. You fix it by teaching your body metabolic safety, even during the holidays.

If you indulge, pair it with these 3 simple tools:
• Protein first
• A walk after meals
• Close the kitchen after dinner

One meal won’t derail you. Repeated patterns do.
This season, don’t chase perfection—choose metabolic direction.

Merry Christmas & happy holidays from all of us at Insulin IQ!

Alcohol doesn’t just slow fat burning, it shuts it down!

Metabolic ward studies show fat oxidation drops 70–90% after drinking and can stay suppressed for 4–8+ hours. Why? Your body prioritizes clearing alcohol first because it sees it as a toxin.

During that window, fat burning is basically on pause… and late-night snacking only makes it worse.

If you’re working on insulin resistance or metabolic health, taking a break from alcohol gives your body real time to heal.

Think cholesterol is the problem? Not so fast.
Cholesterol itself isn’t the enemy, but how it shows up on your labs matters a lot.

One of the most important markers on your lab work is your Triglyceride-to-HDL ratio.
Just divide your triglycerides by your HDL.

• Under 1.5 → healthier metabolism
• Over 1.5 → insulin resistance
• Much higher → increased heart risk

If it’s high, start by cutting refined carbs and processed oils, move your body, and get outside.

Your labs tell a story, make sure you’re reading them right. We can help at InsulinIQ.com.

Fasting isn’t hard because you’re weak.
It’s hard because your hormones are fighting you.

When insulin is high, your body can’t access stored energy, so fasting feels miserable, shaky, and exhausting. That’s not failure… that’s biology.

Lower insulin first, and everything changes.
Suddenly, your body can tap into stored fuel and fasting feels natural instead of forced.

Fix the insulin. Then try fasting. We can help at InsulinIQ.com

What if insulin resistance isn’t starting in your blood… but in your gut?

LPS is a bacterial molecule that’s supposed to stay in the intestines. When the gut barrier weakens, it leaks into the bloodstream and quietly drives inflammation and metabolic dysfunction.

GLP-1 gets talked about like there’s only one solution, but that’s not how real metabolic health works.

At Insulin IQ, we take a different approach:
1. Deep scientific research from Dr. Ben Bikman
2. Real-world clinical experience treating patients
3. Personalized strategies—natural GLP-1 support and medical options when needed

Some people benefit from boosting their body’s own GLP-1. Others truly need higher-powered interventions. The key is understanding which is right for you.

We break it all down inside Insulin IQ and clear up the confusion around GLP-1, without hype or fear tactics.

Our HOMA-IR Calculator uses fasting insulin and fasting glucose to estimate insulin resistance, a key marker of metabolic health. It’s not a diagnosis, but it is a powerful way to track trends over time.

Close your kitchen after dinner.
I’m serious.

Late-night eating isn’t about hunger… it’s about stress, boredom, loneliness, or looking for a reward at the end of the day. But metabolically? It works against you.

At night:
• Insulin is highest
• Metabolism is lowest
• Your body is trying to repair

And when you snack before bed, you force your system to stay “on.” That means higher blood sugar, worse sleep, more cravings tomorrow, and less fat burning.

So here’s the challenge:
Pick a time. Close the kitchen. Brush your teeth. Walk away. It’s simple, but it’s a metabolic superpower.

Ready to try it tonight!?

Men don’t hit a sudden “menopause” like women do, but testosterone does decline, and for many men the real cause isn’t age… it’s metabolism.

Mitochondrial breakdown, insulin resistance, and excess body fat all work together to lower testosterone faster than time alone.

The good news?
Because it’s metabolic, it’s modifiable.

Feeling “stressed all the time”? You’re not imagining it. Chronic stress keeps your body stuck in fight-or-flight, driving cortisol higher than it should be.

Our Metabolic Medical Health Director, Lindsay Venn, breaks down what people are calling a “cortisol detox” and what actually works to calm your nervous system.
