🎄 Christmas is almost here 🎄
Mental Health Monday

As the year winds down, take a quiet moment to reflect.

✨ What are you grateful for right now?
It doesn’t have to be big — a conversation, a memory, a moment of peace, or simply making it through a hard season.

Gratitude can gently shift our mindset and bring a little more calm during a busy, emotional time of year.

💚 Share one thing you’re grateful for below.

Thoughtful Thursday… a day late 😂

We’re continuing our Las Vegas series 🎰✨
What’s your favorite holiday — and why?

Have a phobia? We can help.
Laughing at this because it’s funny…
and because it’s a little too real 😅

Phobias don’t mean you’re weak.
They mean your nervous system learned something it doesn’t need anymore.
Have a phobia? We can help with that.

The holidays can be more than busy schedules and to-do lists—they can also be a powerful time for families to reconnect and strengthen the bonds that matter most.

At Deseret Counseling, we see the season as an opportunity to slow down, be intentional, and strengthen family bonds.

Something as simple as creating one shared moment or fun tradition each day—like having hot cocoa together, baking Christmas cookies, taking a walk to see the lights, or spending a few minutes talking without phones or playing a game together—can build emotional closeness in meaningful ways.

Because when families make space for small but intentional interactions, they strengthen communication, reduce tension, and create memories that last far beyond the Christmas season.

We stopped by the M&M Store in Las Vegas and asked a simple—but powerful—question:

✨ Who do you admire?
🎄 What’s your favorite holiday?

Sometimes reflecting on the people we admire reminds us of the values we want to live by—kindness, resilience, courage, and connection. And favorite holidays often point us back to moments of joy, family, and feeling safe and grounded.

Mental health isn’t always about fixing what’s wrong—it’s also about remembering what brings meaning and warmth into our lives.

So we’ll ask you:
👉 Who do you admire most?
👉 What holiday lifts your spirits every year?

If stress, anxiety, or past experiences are getting in the way of enjoying those moments, help is available. You don’t have to navigate it alone.

✨ Mental Health Monday… a day late on Tuesday! 😄

We’re back at Duke University continuing our student interviews.
Today’s question: “Who do you admire, and how do you handle stress?”

Always inspiring to hear real answers and real coping strategies.
Who do YOU admire, and what helps you manage stress?

Thoughtful Thursday ✨
Who do you admire? Who helps you when doubt or stress starts creeping in?
I really enjoyed this interview from Duke University—it reminded me how powerful support and connection can be. I really enjoyed interviewing these two

The holidays bring excitement—but they can also bring pressure, expectations, and emotional overload.

At Deseret Counseling, we remind individuals, couples, and families that it’s okay to set boundaries that protect your peace.

Saying no to one more event, choosing simpler traditions, or carving out quiet time together can make the season more enjoyable for everyone.

A great rule of thumb: If it drains you more than it fills you, it’s okay to pass on the opportunity and let it go.

Kids and teens especially benefit from calmer routines, predictable downtime, and moments where they feel heard and supported.

And when you give your family permission to slow down, you make space for more patience, better communication, and a more meaningful holiday experience.
