Charlene Mae Green, age 91, passed away quietly on Thursday, November 5, 2020, at Mercy Health System, Janesville.

She was born May 15, 1929 on the North Footville Road, where she lived her entire life, and was the daughter of Lewis and Ava (Keehn) Zee.

Charlene married Willard Green on October 25, 1952 at the Footville United Methodist Church.

Charlene farmed with her husband. She enjoyed working in the office at Parker Pen Company for several years. Charlene was Center Township clerk for 25 years. She belonged to the West Center Neighbors Club.

For over 65 years, every 3rd Saturday she and Willard played cards with nine other couples. Charlene was an active member of the New Horizon United Methodist Church in Footville. Church was an important part of her life. Charlenes favorite meal was bisquit and gravy at K’s Outback in Orfordville. Charlene was very blessed to have a 90th birthday celebration with family and many friends.

Surviving are her 4 children: Dennis (Clarice) Green of Janesville; and their children: Melissa (Wyatt) Fellows (Alivia and Will) Evansville, and Jenny (Ben) Stolen of Valdez, Alaska; Deb (Larry) Klegin of Cannon Falls, Minnesota; and their children: Jill (Sam) Kaiser (newborn son) and Julie Klegin and (fiance Spencer Nusbaum); Diane (Bob) Prijic of Janesville and their children: Michael and (fiancee Abby Lipp), Lucas and Allison; Don Green of Footville and his daughter Amanda Green and Chris Garcia, (Brody and Amelia).

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters
Dorothy Ballew and Phyllis Grangaard, and brother, Norman Zee.

Due to Covid restrictions, private funeral services will be held.

Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Town of Center.

Per Charlene’s wishes she asked in lieu of flowers and monies that you plant “pink” flowers in the spring in her memory.

JANESVILLE, WISCONSIN

Ruth Marie (Meyers) Schmerse, 95, of Janesville, WI went home to be with her Savior on November 5, 2020. She was born April 10, 1925 to the union of Fred and Marie (Aebly) Meyers. She was united in marriage to Marvin Schmerse on February 12, 1944.

Ruth was a devoted wife and mother. She farmed over 50 years with her husband in Rock County. She belonged to Homemakers, card clubs, led Foods and Nutrition in 4H, and taught Sunday School at the Janesville Church of Christ for many years.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin, and sister Helen (Meyers) Blum.

She is survived by her children: Joyce Storer of Milwaukee, WI; Donald (Dynah) Schmerse of Waxahachie, TX; and David (Linda) Schmerse of Appleton, WI; 8 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

A visitation for Ruth will be held at Newcomer-Silverthorn Chapel on the Hill Funeral Home, 3008 South C**n Island Rd, Orfordville, WI on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 from 11:00am until 12:00pm.

A brief burial service will be held at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Juda, WI at 1:00 pm. Please follow COVID protocols for both.

Dorothy M. Boltz, age 99, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2020 at Monroe Health Services, Monroe, WI.

She was born April 29, 1921 in Earlville, Illinois, the daughter of Wade and Daisy (Baird) Holliday.

Dorothy married Wilbur G. Boltz on March 7, 1943 in Earlville.

Surviving are her sons: Ken(Shirley), Keith and Karl;
7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 5 bothers and 2 sisters.

Graveside services will be held at Luther Valley Cemetery.

Edwin George Konze, Jr., age 84, of Footville, died Saturday, August 15, 2020, at his home.

Edwin was born in Cataract, Wisconsin, January 27, 1936. He was the son of Edwin Ellsworth Konze Sr. and Caroline Huber. Edwin married Janice Raye Jessie on July 7, 1962 at Melrose Lutheran Church.

Edwin “Buzz” served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1961. Buzz retired from General Motors in 1985 with a 30-year perfect attendance record. He belonged to the Milton 161 Masonic Temple for 50+ years and served a term as Master Mason. Buzz never really retired, he just stayed busy doing the things he loved.

When he stopped going the General Motors, he built 22 rocking horses for children. He was at the golf course with his wife Jan nearly every day. He often drove to his family land in Cataract to hunt, fish and enjoy the outdoors with his sons. Buzz also enjoyed running his sawmill, gardening and woodworking.

Buzz is survived by his wife, Janice; children: Karri Konze, Matt (Karen) Konze and Joshua Konze; grandchildren: Cooper T. Edwards and Emily Konze; great grandchild Mylo; and sister, Joan Abbott.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Lambert, Eugene and Laverne; 3 sisters, Berneice Huber, Juanita Jenkins and Lorraine Ghent.

A visitation will be held

Harry Hauri, Jr, age 71, of Machesney Park, Illinois, died peacefully Saturday, August 8, 2020, at his home.
He was born in Monroe, Wisconsin, October 13, 1948, the son of Harry and Dolores Mae (Jensen) Hauri, Sr. He married Diane Badertscher on August 30, 1980 at the Church by the Side of the Road, Rockton, Il.
Harry was a graduate of Parkview High School Class of 1967. He worked for 25 years as a machinist at Beloit Corp in all areas of the paper mill.
Harry loved to sing to the 60’s music after football practice. You could hear him singing tunes 2 miles away as he drove down the road in his 1990 Ford. He loved to play Euchre. Harry learned to fish from his best bud, Mike Badertscher. He enjoyed PBR, popcorn, goulash, strawberry shakes and butter pecan ice cream while watching his sports teams: Green Bay Packers, White Sox and the Badgers. He will be remembered for saying loudly “stay home – goin alone”.
He is survived by his father, Harry Hauri Sr.; daughters: Tammy (Pete) Beggs, Sheila Brinker, and Connie Brinker; son: Harry (Megan) Hauri III
Grandchildren: Andrew and Anthony Beggs, Harry IV, Annalynn and Lincoln Hauri; sisters: Linda Summers, Christine (Nate) Janisch, Carol (Steve) Hagen, Rose (Fritz) Cash, Betsy (Steve) Sutherland, Judith (Kerry) Simplot, and Nancy Hollibush; brothers: Dwight (Edie), Carl (Renette), Arthur (Cinda), Paul (Sue) and Phillip (Kelly).
He was preceded in death by his mother, Delores; wife, Diane; sister, Wanda; brother in law, Ralph Summers and Mike Hollibush; and grandparents, Adelbert and Beulah Jensen and Robert and Elsie Hauri.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the American Legion Post 209, 3913 WI 213, Orfordville, in the outdoor pavilion. A drive thru visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2020 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Newcomer-Silverthorn Chapel on the Hill, 3008 S C**n Island Road, Orfordville.
Burial will be in Luther Valley Cemetery.

Judith Ann Lund, age 82, passed away at her daughter’s home on Sunday, July 26, 2020 in Magnolia Township.

She was born on May 5, 1938 in Center Township, Wisconsin, the daughter of George and Alice (Wesenberg) Ballmer. She married Kenneth Lund on February 20, 1960 at Orfordville Lutheran Church.

Judy farmed with her husband on the family farm and was a member of the Orfordville Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her children, Gregory (Lynne) Lund and Luann (Michael) Varilek all of Brodhead; four grandchildren, Jenna Lund of Brodhead, Bo Lund of Brodhead, Stephanie Varilek of LaCrosse and Sarah Varilek of Brodhead; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; son, Steven Lund; three brothers, Victor, Kenneth and Rodney Ballmer and one sister, June Janisch.

Private funeral services will be held.

Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Town of Center.

Memorials may be made to Orfordville Lutheran Church, 210 N Main, Orfordville, WI 53576.

The family would like to thank Monroe Hospice, Clarice, Kelly and Raelynn, Dr. Gaines Richardson and Hometown Helpers.
