Please join us in welcoming Ibrahim Shalabi to Finding Your Solutions Counseling and Wellness. Ibrahim is a Licensed Professional Counselor who graduated from Boston University in May 2025 and will be working with adults and older adolescents here at FYS. His training includes a practicum in a group practice dedicated to serving the BIPOC and LGBTQ communities and his clinical interests include identity, trauma, depression, and relationship concerns. “Slow moments with yourself may feel harder to come by. We are all striving to connect more to ourselves and find our place in the world which I understand is becoming increasingly difficult in this time. It can be an extremely intimidating process and I’m here with you. Not with answers, but as a calming and helpful guide in that life-long journey. Together, we will not only work to alleviate distress, but also nurture your introspection in order to build a deeper understanding of self and create a life that is authentic to you. Feel free to reach out and connect to see if we’d be a good fit.”

We all know Freud didn't always get it right, but with all of the latest research pointing to traumatic memories and experiences being the cause of virtually all mental health diagnoses, not chemical imbalances, I think he was on to something here.

Please join FYS in welcoming our newest counseling intern, Dania Abed. Dania is completing a Master's of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at National Louis University. "I believe it’s important to recognize the value of your willingness in committing to counseling. It is a journey I hope to help you through since processing your life experiences alone can be difficult. What I can offer you are the tools to help you when you are lonely, worried, stuck, or unsure. I can offer you the space to find the answers to the questions you struggle to answer, and I can most certainly support you along the way. My style is direct, intentional, and encouraging so that you may better understand yourself and the world around you. My job is to ensure I make use of your time to help you attain your goals. Whether that may be relational issues, religious curiosity, identity development, anxiety, depression, or trauma; my intention is help you through these difficult times in processing, while also gaining self-awareness. It is important to remember that I offer the tools to help you navigate your obstacles, but your commitment will make all the difference in the changes you want to see."
