Acupuncture has been around for thousands of years because it works. And this is accurate because there are points in your ankle area that help neck pain! Love this cartoon so much because it’s funny and accurate! I know I’ve posted before but to good not to repost.

🎃 Pumpkin (南瓜 Nán Guā)
Nature: Warm
Flavor: Sweet
Meridians Entered: Spleen, Stomach, Large Intestine
Key TCM Benefits:
1. Strengthens the Spleen & Stomach –
Pumpkin is excellent for people with weak digestion, low appetite, bloating, or fatigue after meals. Its sweetness and warmth tonify Spleen Qi and harmonize the middle burner.
2. Transforms Dampness & Supports Elimination –
Helps the body expel Dampness and mild toxins, which is beneficial for conditions like sluggish digestion, loose stools, or feelings of heaviness.
3. Promotes Qi Circulation & Detoxification –
Gently clears toxins, including those from inflammation, swelling, and even parasite exposure (especially when paired with the seeds).
4. Supports Blood & Qi Production –
Its bright orange color (rich in beta-carotene) reflects its ability to nourish Blood and promote vitality, making it a restorative food after illness or depletion.
5. Calms and Grounds –
Its warming, sweet, and earthy qualities help calm overthinking and anxiety related to Spleen deficiency.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, fear is related to the kidneys. If you’re living with fear, I highly recommend getting acupuncture. Not only acupuncture, but your local Acupuncture Physician can prescribe an herbal formula specifically for you. And as Food Therapy goes, incorporate eating foods that are black; they will nourish the kidneys.

And if you’d like further support and balance around that, consider acupuncture. I love Traditional Chinese Medicine and how it supports your emotions even as a subtle nuance to a profound shift. It is different for everyone. You are your own healer, the needles allow it to happen. Did you know the gallbladder is related to decision making, the liver is related to irritation and anger, the spleen is related to over thinking, the kidneys are related to fear, the lungs are related to sadness and grief and the heart is related to excess excitement or overjoy when these organs are out of balance. Come feel supported by your body and mind in balance. Illustration 吉祥寺トーストマスターズクラブ - Kichijoji Toastmasters Club

Such a good reminder! It’s amazing how a little time away can bring clarity to what’s really important. Even if it’s just an hour break in your day for acupuncture to reset your nervous system. But a wellness retreat would really do it. www.helloholisticretreats.com
