🔸AMA Network Open: "Are Incretin-Based Therapies Associated With Decreased Risk of Alcohol Use Disorder After Bariatric Surgery?"

🔹American Journal of Gastroenterology: "Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 Receptor Agonists Use Does Not Increase the Risk for Acute Pancreatitis and Is Associated With Lower Complications in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes Who Develop Acute Pancreatitis: A Multicenter Analysis."

We are pleased to announce Dr. Giorgio Roccaro as our new Medical Director of Hepatology and Liver Transplantation at Emory! 🎉 He has an impressive track record of developing  and leading clinical programs within our Hepatology section, including our Liver Tumor and Living Donor Transplant programs, and we now look forward to his leadership in this new role.

Dr. Kamal Hammouda and Dr. Irina Geiculescu, Postdoctoral Fellows, Department of Pediatrics, Emory University School of Medicine will be the guest speakers for the Emory Digestive Disease Initiative (EDDI) seminar on Thursday, March 12 @ 4 pm in the Whitehead Auditorium. They will be presenting on “A Generalizable Multimodal AI Framework for Digestive and Urologic Diseases” and, “Modulation of Epithelial Immune Response by Metabolic Pathways in Intestinal Organoids” respectively.
