Impromptu trip to Boston this weekend started out great yesterday, despite the flight being pushed back and us getting on the ground later than planned. Fish n chips and a beer flight. The 54th Massachusetts Regiment monument. Cheers. And like 100 awesome churches. Hitting the Freedom Trail this morning and the Boston Tea Party late this afternoon. Sometimes the best is time to enjoy yourself.

Recently, I have been speaking to one of the couples I work with about how important it is to consider the words we use when we argue and the fallout that comes from those words. When we say things, they are 'out there' and can continue to have an impact, even after we try to make it right. Link in bio to read more thoughts on this.

Sticks and stones may break our bones but words can never hurt me… at least how the saying goes. The thing about sayings like this one is that they are mostly true but at the same time not entirely…

Too busy for therapy? How about a ?

Overcoming depression isn’t as easy as just deciding to feel better or not be sad. Cognitive behavioral therapy tells us sometimes we have to act before we feel like it. While we can’t make ourselves not be lonely, we don’t have to be alone. We can make the decision to reach out to friends and family.

Depression sucks and no one should have to face it alone. Find your supports. Oh yeah, and finding a therapist isn’t a bad decision.
