In honor of I wanted to share this image. So many times when I work with individuals, often discussing depression, suicidality, and self-injury this word pops up, “burden.”

The image reads, “You’re not a burden. You’re a human.”

So many times our experiences of ourselves and the way we interact with our world gets twisted. We perceive ourselves as “too much,” ”not enough,” and so many other unhelpful thoughts.

Truth is, we’re human. We have needs. We have flaws. This is true for everyone and it doesn’t change our worth, value, or ability to be loved.
