I LOST EVERYTHING AT 66. HERE'S WHAT I LEARNED.

About a year ago, I trusted the wrong people. A lawyer. My former employer. The disability system.

At 66—after doing everything "right" for 40 years—I hit rock bottom financially. Then made it worse.

But that devastating mistake taught me exactly where my vulnerabilities lie. Who I can trust. What I'm capable of surviving.

I'm doing better now. Not because I avoided failure, but because I learned from it.

So go ahead: Screw up. Hit bottom. Just don't let it kill you.

I took an entire day off. Not a "catch up on emails" day. Not a "productive rest" day. A real, actual, do-nothing day. And what happened to my body, mind, and spirit shocked me.
