Building TRUST

This week at Coping Lab, we’re building something that most people say they want… but few actually practice.

Trust.

Today’s activity? Partner drawing.

One student had the image(in words ONLY.
The other had the marker.
No peeking. No shortcuts. Just instructions.

And let me tell you — it was powerful.

We watched students slow down.
We watched them really listen.
We watched them say, “Wait… can you explain that again?”
We watched frustration turn into focus.
We watched “I can’t” turn into “Okay, let’s try it this way.”

Because trust isn’t magic.
It’s built.

It’s built through:
Clear communication
Patience when things don’t go perfectly
Asking questions instead of assuming
Listening with the intent to understand

Some drawings came out spot on.
Some came out… creatively unique 😅
But every pair learned something deeper than art.

They learned that connection requires effort.
And effort requires humility.

Friday, we’re going deeper.

Because if our kids can learn how to communicate, listen, and work through tension now they’ll carry that into friendships, classrooms, relationships, and leadership later.

And that’s the real masterpiece. 🎨

Family Night was TONIGHT… and whew.

When I tell you it was epic, I mean the kind of epic that shifts atmospheres.

Tonight wasn’t just a gathering.
It wasn’t just parents sitting in chairs.
It wasn’t just kids running around after a long day.

Tonight we broke cycles.

We had real conversations about how we respond when emotions rise.
About what happens in our homes when things get heated.
About what we were taught… and what we refuse to pass down.

That’s not light work.

That’s legacy work.

Parents leaned in.
They reflected.
They owned their part.
They chose growth over ego.

And that’s how generational cycles break.

Not by accident.
By intention.

You could feel it in the room — something bigger than us was moving.
God is doing something special with Coping Lab. This isn’t random. This isn’t hype. This is purpose unfolding in real time.

Healing isn’t always loud.
Sometimes it looks like a parent saying,
“I want to do this differently.”

Tonight, that happened over and over again.

We are building emotionally healthy homes.
We are raising kids who know how to process, not just react.
We are shifting the emotional culture of families.

And that?

That’s epic.

Coping Lab isn’t just a program.
It’s a movement.

And tonight proved it. 🔥💛

LEADERSHIP IN REAL TIME. 💙

One of our young students in the program got triggered today and became extremely upset. He stood up, overwhelmed, and you could tell his emotions were taking over.

But what happened next… blew me away.

Another student immediately stepped in—not to judge him, not to laugh, not to escalate the situation—but to help him regulate. He calmly walked him through coping strategies, helped him breathe, and reminded him how to work through the moment.

And in that moment I realized something:

This is what the next generation of leaders looks like.
Kids supporting kids.
Kids encouraging kids.
Kids helping each other heal instead of hurting each other.

I am beyond proud of our My Coping Lab students for the way they are learning emotional regulation, teamwork, empathy, and real-life coping skills.

And I want to say this to every parent reading this:

Be intentional about the environments you place your children in.
Not just academically… but emotionally.
Not just for grades… but for growth.
Not just for success… but for stability.

Because the right environment doesn’t just teach children how to learn…
It teaches them how to live.

Today was a reminder that healing is contagious.
Support is contagious.
Leadership is contagious.

And I’m grateful to witness it.

💙 Proud is an understatement.
