Join us every 3rd Tuesday for a free guided artistic based workshop!

This upcoming Tuesday, January 20th we will be doing a “Self Mosaic as a Portrait” writing and collage activity. All materials are provided and no experience necessary, all we need is you (and maybe some of your friends too!)

Shoutout to who will be leading our activity!

This is a free peer led workshop meaning we’re just here sharing what works for us and you can take or leave and art your own way! Big feelings cozy space. 🫶🏽

Reaching out to mary@peersupportspace.org for any accessibility needs or questions!

Thank you to for sponsoring this space.

We’re not your regular cancer support group. We’re a cool cancer support group! Truthfully, we are probably more sad, angry, dissociated, frustrated, and other arrays of big feelings than “cool” BUT we ARE relatable!

We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month (starting February 2026) from 2PM-3PM at Foundation for a Healthier West Orange (1200 E. Plant St. Ste. 200., Winter Garden, FL 34787). Please note that in March 2026 we will be meeting alternatively that month on March 10th!

With the support of those that attend our space, we are creating a nonjudgemental space where those with cancer can laugh and cry while we vent our grievances and hold space for one another. We are a FREE space that centers younger adults currently with or that have had cancer ages 18-45, while welcoming adults of all ages with lived experience of currently having or previously having had cancer.

Peer-led support groups, or what we call community gatherings, are nonclinical spaces where we do not seek to fix, analyze or pathologize one another. We believe that each person has a different set of things that work for them and center supporting somebody in the way that they want to be supported and holding back projecting that what works for us is what works for others.

While this space is directly for those that have or have had cancer themselves, we do welcome a support person if helpful for the participant.

If you are a loved one of somebody with or that has had cancer, thank you so much for having lots of love for one of our friends! Currently, this space is not a space for loved ones of those with cancer unless you are joining to support an attendee on their request. With that said, please feel welcomed to email us and we are happy to resource brainstorm with you.

For questions, accessibility needs, to share ways we can help you feel welcome, or to just let out a big cancer-fueled “AHHHHHHHHHHH!” you want to place somewhere - please email Sabra at sabrastarrphoto@gmail.com

If you are interested in donating towards or sponsoring this space, please email Yasmin at yasmin@peersupportspace.org

As we reflect back on 2025 we have deep gratitude for all who make up our chosen family! From those who have attended our spaces once or twice, to those who stop by a tabling event to share a message of hope, to our team, to our donors, to our community partners, to our regulars at the casita or community gatherings - thank you for all the memories!

In 2025 we laughed and cried together. It was quite the year but we made it through and gathered many pockets of joy and memories along the way.

Wishing you all the good stuff and things this new year and every day. Love you pal. 🫶🏽

Tonight! Calling all writers— experienced and new! 📝💖

Metaphor Corner is a peer-led, digital writers’ café made for writers, by writers. It aims to be a cozy, non-judgmental space that provides like-minded individuals with a space to create, share their stories, and insight, and connect with others. We want this to be a space where writers, or those interested in writing, can gather and form community around the written word.

You do not need to share your writing or have experience writing to attend. We welcome active listening, so we welcome you to listen and hold space.

Please email metaphorcornerpss@gmail.com to receive the Zoom link to join the space!

[ID: An animated café storefront has written on a sign: “Metaphor Corner. Metaphor corner is a peer-led, digital writer’s café made for writers, by writers. Meeting monthly, every 3rd Wednesday @ 6:30 PM (EST). Email MetaphorCornerPSS@gmail.com to join!”]

You’re invited to stop by during a week-long tour-a-thon celebration!

Lovingly named after our founding board president, our peer respite is a space to get away for a bit with optional activities and support available. Kind of like… a bed and breakfast for big feelings.

Voted Best New Thing in Orlando, Eva’s Casita is a voluntary, home-like, nonclinical space where people can take a self-driven break with the optional support of others with similar lived experiences. We have scheduled and ongoing activities available, welcoming an exploration of diverse wellness tools. You get your own room and can come and go as you please.

Only open for just over a year, our casita has already been an impressively effective tool in psychiatric hospital diversion. We do not typically allow tours for guest privacy, we encourage you to take advantage of this week long tour a thon where we will not have any guests.

To allow as many people as possible to see our life-changing space, while also being mindful of neighbors and limited parking, small groups will receive a dedicated 50-minute opportunity to get a tour of the space from one of our team members. Please register to choose your preferred time slot from November 18th-25th. This will be a chance to learn about our inclusive and intentional design as well as our other programs.

This tour is open to both prospective guests and community partners. An optional volunteer opportunity will be available after your tour!

RSVP REQUIRED: casitatours.eventbrite.com

Note: Eva’s Casita is located in the S**o neighborhood of Orlando, FL. You will receive our exact address upon registering.
