These resources can help save lives. Just as it's important to refer our neighbor to the right service or professional, it is also important to know who to turn to for help when struggling with your mental health. We all need each other.

A Statement from the CEO of NAMI Greater Orlando
October 16th, 2025

The recent deaths by su***de among students in Seminole County have left our community heartbroken and grieving deeply. As the CEO of NAMI Greater Orlando, I want to express our profound condolences to the families, friends, classmates, educators, and the entire Seminole County community affected by this tragedy.

These young lives—filled with potential, promise, and purpose—were lost far too soon. Our hearts ache alongside every student, parent, teacher, and neighbor who is struggling to make sense of this pain. Please know that you are not alone in your grief or in your healing.

In moments like this, we are reminded that mental health is community health. NAMI Greater Orlando stands with our partners—the Mental Health Association of Central Florida, Recovery Connections of Central Florida, the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention, Ali’s Hope Foundation, and others—in offering compassion, education, and tangible support to those in crisis. Together, we are committed to ensuring that help and hope remain within reach for every individual and family.

We also extend our deepest sympathy and solidarity to the Seminole County Public Schools community. The loss is felt not only by those directly impacted but across our entire region. We stand ready to support schools, students, and parents through mental health awareness initiatives, educational programs, and peer-led support opportunities.

To anyone who may be struggling: please reach out. You do not have to face this pain alone. There is help, there is hope, and there are people who care.

We want to know what a safe space looks and feels like for you. And if it isn’t a place, but a person, what has that someone done to support you during times of difficulty?

In the latest episode of the , we’re joined by counselor Michelle Moore to discuss what it means to be the parent, friend, partner, or loved one of someone who engages in non-suicidal self-injurious behaviors. The hard truth is that we may not always be able to give those we love the support they need to process or heal, but that doesn’t mean we can’t connect them with resources or sit and listen without judgment.
