Our goal is for children and families who visit us to feel at home. We know that a hospital can be a scary place for a young child. So we’ve gone above and beyond to create a care center that is friendly and perhaps even a little fun. At AdventHealth for Children we have made it our purpose to provide your family with the most advanced pediatric medical services built on the foundation of treating

all our patients as if they were are own. With more then 140 pediatric specialists practicing in 35 specialties dedicated to healing children, we have built a connected network of 28 trusted locations from Urgent Cares to Emergency Rooms and from Specialty Clinics to NICUs. We appreciate and encourage the conversations and perspectives shared by the diverse AdventHealth online community. To ensure this space is safe and welcoming, all visitors are expected to adhere to our community standards, which you can review here: https://www.adventhealth.com/adventhealth-community-standards. What began as hives during a summer vacation quickly became something more serious for Nate. When a growing mass in his neck led his family to AdventHealth for Children, they were searching for answers. What they found was a care team that saw Nate as more than a patient.

After testing revealed a fist-size tumor in his neck and a positive gene for paragangliomas, Nate’s journey became complex. Over the course of one week, he underwent 3 procedures totaling 20+ hours of surgery to remove the tumor.

The road to recovery was long. For 3 months, he couldn’t swallow or eat. Healing took time, patience, and support.

Step by step, Nate began to heal. After a month in the hospital, he returned home. Over time, his voice came back, growing stronger until it fully returned last month. Today, Nate is back on the soccer field, doing what he loves most.

Through it all, his family never felt alone. Guided by faith and supported by a compassionate team, they found reassurance in every call, every answered question, and every moment of care. His mom, Anna, shared, “Dr. Lopez and his staff were amazing. I don’t know how I would have gotten through this without their support. Dr. Lopez has a true calling for this work. He cared for Nate like he was his own child, not just as a patient, but as someone deeply valued.”

At AdventHealth for Children, we walk with families through life’s toughest moments, so they can move forward feeling whole.

A special kind of music filled the halls of AdventHealth for Children. From bedside performances to gentle lullabies for our littlest patients, Opera Orlando brought moments of comfort, joy, and calm through each note.

We’re honored to be the Official Health Care Provider of Opera Orlando and grateful for the talented artists who reminded us healing can be found in music, too.

This National Donate Life Month, hope came to life in an extraordinary way. A 23-year-old college student chose to donate part of her liver to a little boy she had never met — giving him a second chance at life.

As one of the few programs in the country offering this type of transplant, we’re expanding access to lifesaving care at a time when it’s needed most. If you’ve ever considered becoming a living donor, now is the time to learn more about how you could change a life and help someone feel whole again.

For children facing advanced liver disease, living donor liver transplant can offer a faster path to healing.

Dr. Dellys Soler Rodriguez, Medical Director of Pediatric Advanced Hepatology & Liver Transplant at AdventHealth for Children, shares how this life-saving option is offering new possibilities for our youngest patients.

This recent case marks a meaningful milestone — the first pediatric living donor liver transplant at AdventHealth Orlando and the first performed in Florida in more than 15 years.
