OCA- A Special Place for Special Needs

OCA- A Special Place for Special Needs OCA focuses on what an individual CAN DO.

Providing Opportunity, Building Community, Maximizing Ability for Individuals With Autism and Other Disabilities www.GoOCA.org

*All media content was taken with participants permission and does not include anyone currently receiving therapy services. OCA was founded in 2008 with the knowledge that children and adults with Autism and other disabilities need more opportunities to engage in age-appropriate activities with their typical peers. We offer Recreation Programs, Adult Program, Camps, Special Olympics training, ABA Therapy and other services for the Special Needs Community in Central Florida. “Special Needs” are commonly defined by what a person CAN’T do.

Valentine's Day is for honoring the partnerships that stand the test of time. 💙 WPC is OCA’s original corporate partner and one of our longest-standing supporters. From the very beginning, WPC has believed in OCA’s mission and backed that belief with financial support, meaningful introductions, and hands-on help with facility improvements.

Because of WPC’s steady partnership, OCA has been able to strengthen its programs and expand the impact made in our community. Thank you, WPC, for all you do!

This Valentine’s Day, we’re sharing our appreciation for Taylor Morrison Home Funding and their continued support of OCA. As the Presenting Sponsor of Monster Dash year after year, they play a key role in making this beloved event possible.

Monster Dash brings our community together for a fun 5K, Kids’ Fun Run, and Family Stroll that supports OCA’s programs for people with autism and other disabilities. Taylor Morrison Home Funding’s involvement goes beyond sponsorship through year-long initiatives like volunteering, in-kind donations, and personal contributions from their team. We are truly grateful for the heart they bring to our mission. 💙

From the very beginning, Brian has been part of what makes OCA so special. 💙 As one of our very first participants, he came to OCA as a young adult who needed more than a one-size-fits-all program. Brian's family took a hopeful leap, trusting OCA could offer him something more.

One unforgettable milestone since Brian started at OCA came during a jobsite visit at Chili’s, when Brian walked in with confidence and completed his tasks independently. Moments like that prove what’s possible when individuals are given real opportunities, support, and a community that believes in them.

Today, Brian continues to grow in independence and connection, building life skills, friendships, and the confidence to speak up for himself in everyday ways that once felt out of reach. His mom Cynthia shared, “OCA means everything to our family. Neither of us could work if we did not have a program for Brian that we trust.”

Your contribution helps make these outcomes for our participants possible. Visit gooca.org/donate to give today.

This is the kind of support that changes what’s possible 🏀💙

OCA will soon receive a $50,000 grant from the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation (OMYF) to strengthen youth-based programming in our community.

With this funding, we can grow the programs that matter most for neurodiverse kids by expanding hands-on skill development, mentorship, recreational opportunities, and community connections.

A huge thank you to the Foundation for believing in our mission and helping us create even more opportunities for the youth and families we serve. Together, we’re making a lasting impact, one program, one connection, and one success story at a time. 🌟 🌟

Tomorrow, February 3, we step into the rehearsal room and bring a brand-new story to life 🎭✨

OCA is proud to kick off rehearsals for our newest Running Man Theatre original production in partnership with Orlando Family Stage. Written by one of our very own participants, Edwin Vazquez, and musically shaped with visiting UCF professor Ralph Krumins, this production marks OCA’s 32nd original work since 2010.

AMAZE, generously sponsored by Massey Services, Inc., will premiere Friday, April 17. We are so excited to see our artists share their voices, imagination, and heart as this story takes the stage.

If you have ever thought, “I want my work to mean something,” you might belong at OCA.

OCA staff walk alongside participants as they build communication, self-advocacy, and community independence, inside a workplace where belonging and respect come first. We are always looking for people who want a mission-driven purpose and bring heart and curiosity to their work.

Learn more at gooca.org/get-involved/ and share this post with someone who might be a fit.
