Pre-Occupational Therapy Organization POTO at the University of Central Florida is a community of pre-occupational therapy students aspiring the same professional goals.

Pre-Occupational Therapy Organization (POTO) at the University of Central Florida was started in 2014 by students who sought to bring together those interested in the developing profession of occupational therapy. Their goal was to create an environment for future OTs to network and exchange information about this field. As occupational therapy as a professional career has grown, consequently POTO has as well. Students now have the ability to join others with similar interests to aid in applying to and visiting graduate schools, be more involved in the community, and overall enjoy the process of becoming a future health care professional. We have had such an eventful and incredible year, deserving of a packed recap! ✨ We started the year with almost double the members, so many new faces and new opportunities. We welcomed new members to the board, and started a toy drive. When spring rolled around we saw this organization truly come to life, social events, lots of volunteering opportunities, and workshops/guest speakers.

It has been such a joy and a privilege to watch as POTO has grown from the small, information focused club, to a community of pre-OTs who are friends first, making an impact on both the community and each other one toy and tote bag at a time 🎨🧸

These Pre-OTs are the queens of the kitchen! 👩‍🍳🥗🍝 We worked with Ronald Mcdonald House Charities to make lasagna and salad for families in need and got to spend the evening putting our chef skills to use!

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make these delicious meals come together, we couldn’t have done it all without you! And thank you to those who donated to help make events like this possible, your support allows us to continue to do good in the community! 💛🤲

We had such a good time celebrating the end of another great year at the beach together! 🐠🏖️🌺We spent the morning as volunteers and ended the day with each other as friends. This weekend after our cleanup volunteering event, spend the day at the beach celebrating all of your hard work this semester and taking a day away from the exciting but stressful Pre OT life. 🐚🌺🐠

We hate to say it… but our last meeting for the semester is less than a week away! 🙈 Join us on Monday as we celebrate our graduating (soon to be OT) members!🥳🎓 we will also be holding elections for next year and making vision boards to welcome a new school year!

Almost monday! you know what that means! 🥳This Monday night we’re holding our OTCAS and Personal Statement workshop! this is a great opportunity to get started working on applications for graduate school and brainstorm ideas for essays! 📝💻 we know these tasks can be very intimidating so come work on it with us eat some snacks and hang out!

lots of useful information next meeting about the coming month and volunteer opportunities as well as elections and more! so don’t miss it! 📣

Will also be collecting toys for our upcoming event for basecamp! so bring in a toy for the toy drive, and you’ll get extra hours for helping out we’ll be posting more information about the event soon! 🧸🪁
