Acupuncture has been around for thousands of years because it works. And this is accurate because there are points in your ankle area that help neck pain! Love this cartoon so much because it’s funny and accurate! I know I’ve posted before but to good not to repost.

I’ve been seeing a lot of patients with leg pain lately and I can’t help but think there is a correlation to a lot of people working from home as well. If you do work from home, sit on an exercise ball or an ergonomic chair to prevent all that is pictured above. And take breaks every hour to get up and move.

Pickles are a big dill (deal) for your digestion because of their fermentation they provide probiotics that support gut health. The vinegar also aids digestion and helps cut fats which makes them a perfect side when having barbecue or a fatty meal. Some people find the pickle juice to help muscle cramps probably because of the sodium and potassium it contains. *Beware of the high sodium content for those with high blood pressure. And I prefer mine prepared locally from at the Winter Park Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings. Who loves pickles and what kind? Full sour for me.

In TCM, sour foods help move the liver qi. If you know anyone irritated or angry, pass them a pickle. Pickles can also “wake up” a sluggish digestion and improve a diminished appetite. Happy National Pickle Day!

🎃 Pumpkin (南瓜 Nán Guā)

Nature: Warm

Key TCM Benefits:
1. Strengthens the Spleen & Stomach –
Pumpkin is excellent for people with weak digestion, low appetite, bloating, or fatigue after meals. Its sweetness and warmth tonify Spleen Qi and harmonize the middle burner.

Its bright orange color (rich in beta-carotene) reflects its ability to nourish Blood and promote vitality, making it a restorative food after illness or depletion.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, fear is related to the kidneys. If you’re living with fear, I highly recommend getting acupuncture. Not only acupuncture, but your local Acupuncture Physician can prescribe an herbal formula specifically for you. And as Food Therapy goes, incorporate eating foods that are black; they will nourish the kidneys.

And if you’d like further support and balance around that, consider acupuncture. I love Traditional Chinese Medicine and how it supports your emotions even as a subtle nuance to a profound shift. It is different for everyone. You are your own healer, the needles allow it to happen. Did you know the gallbladder is related to decision making, the liver is related to irritation and anger, the spleen is related to over thinking, the kidneys are related to fear, the lungs are related to sadness and grief and the heart is related to excess excitement or overjoy when these organs are out of balance. Come feel supported by your body and mind in balance. Illustration

Such a good reminder! It’s amazing how a little time away can bring clarity to what’s really important. Even if it’s just an hour break in your day for acupuncture to reset your nervous system. But a wellness retreat would really do it. www.helloholisticretreats.com

I’m amazed at how fresh and divine the quality of food is in Italy 🇮🇹. Like local, farm raised without pesticides, antibiotics and hormones. I never needed any digestive enzymes, I had tons of energy without caffeine (decaf cappuccino’s with rich cream will be missed) and felt great the whole time there. I knew I had to nourish my body as best as possible now that I’m home. First thing I did was go to the Winter Park Farmer’s Market to get and from and then went to Morganic Meats for fresh local pure beef 🥩 and vegetables. 🥕🥔 🧅 Let’s just say Too bad my olive oil didn’t arrive yet.
