Douglas Dobbs has been a licensed funeral director since 1979. Originally from Chicago, he opened Dobbs Funeral Home in 1989 to serve the needs of Orlando and West Orange County. Twenty Six years and thousands of families later, Dobbs Funeral Home is still serving needs and exceeding expectations. He received a bachelor’s degree in Biological Science & Psychology from Purdue University and a graduate degree in Mortuary Science from Worsham College, Chicago. Doug is married to his lovely wife Sarah and the father of 3 children. A 27 year old daughter who graduated from the University of Central Florida majoring in Theater and Performing Arts, a 23 year old son Brandon, who is in completion of mortuary school at St. Petersburg College and works in the funeral home along side his father on a full time basis, and a 13 year old athletic son who attends Mont Verde Academy. An avid student, Doug has studied and mastered the funeral customs of all major religions, with an emphasis on the special requirements of Protestant, Catholic, Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim and other faiths. Dobbs is dedicated to serving those families who call upon him during their time of grief. Being a family owned independent funeral director allows him to provide special attention to those who need him most. McKnight, is professional, courteous and compassionate to all who enter.
